FIG.1
INVENTOR da/6 M ma# ATTORNEY United States Patent Oiiice 3,131,951 Patented May 5, 1964 Gli BLANES .lari Erik hlsson, Bergshyddan, iurgarden, Sweden Filed lieb. le, 1262, Ser. No. 173,255 Claims priority, application Sweden Eeio. le, 13361 1 Claim. (Cl. 282-22) rthis invention relates to `a set of blanks comprising a number of superposed duplicating blanks which are either chemically prepared or have carbon papers interleaved with them for permitting duplication, and which fare connected together -at one edge by glue or like adhesive, said blanks being preferably provided with perforation lor like weakening lines which limit the blanks from the stub section consisting of the gluedatogether edge portions of the blanks. .The set of blanks suggested according to the present invention is essentially characterized by the tact that @at the edge Where the blanks 'are glued together the set is ribbed or scored in parallel with said edge. The invention ensures that the glued edge is straight so that the set of blanks is readily insentable in a typewriter or like machine. The ribs or scores tui-then more provide an excellent hold for the iingers when the blanks are to be torn from the stub `section lat the perforation lines. Such tearing off is further facilitated by the ribs or scores impanting increased stiiness to the stub section.
These features of the invention `and the advantages thereof will lappear from the `following detailed description in which reference is made to the accompanying drawing which illustrates an embodiment, chosen by way of example, of the set yof blanks. In the drawing:
FIG. 1 is Aa front view of the set of blanks;
FIG. 2 is a side view thereof;
FIG. 3 is a longitudinal section of the set of blanks on a heavily enlarged scale.
The set of blanks comprises a number of superposed blanks 1 which lhave single-use carbon papers 2 interleaved lwith them. Instead :of the single-use carbon papers 2 the set of blanks may comprise chemically prepared blanks 1 permitting duplication.
rIhe blanks `1 and suitably also the carbon papers 2 are united at the edge 3` by means of glue 4 or like adhesive.
In the embodiment illustrated the blanks 1 but not the carbon papers 2 `are provided with perforation or like weakening lines 5 which the blanks 'from the stub section 6 consisting of the gluedtogether edge portions.
According to the invention, the set of blanks is provided at the edge 3 where the blanks 1 are connected together by means of the glue 4, with ribs :or sco-res 7 extending in parallel with said edge 3.
The blanks 1 are longer than the carbon papers 2, and for tearing olf the blanks 1 trom the stub Isection 6 the blanks should be grasped by the portions 8 projecting beyond the carbon papers 2.
The above embodiment fof the invention Was described for purposes of illustration rather than limitation. All possible modifications yof the invention faire understood as being included in the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim land desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A manifold fomn set having transverse rigidity in the stub section for ease of handling, comprising a plurality of blanks connected at one edge, adhesive means on said edge of said blanks for connecting said plurality of blanks at that edge, weakening lines ron said blanks which limit the blanks 4from the stub section including the attached edge portions `of said blanks, and ribs said blanks Where said blanks are attached together, said ribs yformed in parallel with said edge and undulated with each undulation parallel with said edge whereby the manifold form set is readily insertable in a machine such as a typewriter.
