Description
(No Model.) A. KIBELE.
INSUPFLATOR. No. 310,444, Patented'Jan. 6,1885.
WITNESSES: INVENTOR BY Wm W ATTOR EYS N PETERi I'M-A01. lhogmphcn wmm xo",
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
AUGUST KIBELE, or WEISSENFELS, GERMANY.
INSUFFLAT OR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 310,444, dated January 6, 1885.
Application lilcd March 29, 1884. (No model.) Patented in Germany February 17, 1. 82;, No.25,'104.
To ctZZ whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, AUGUST KIBELE, of Weissenfels-ou-the-Saalc, in the Empire of Germany, have invented certain new' and use ful Improvements in Insuiiiators, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has reference to an improved insuiilatorforinjectingpowderinto thelarynX, said insufliatorbeing adapted to be charged in a quick and convenient manner; and the invention consists of an insui'i'lator composed of an elastic bulb having a fixed socket and a curved detachable nozzle provided with a spoonshaped end, that is fitted into said socket of the bulb.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a side elevation of my improved insuffiator; Fig. 2, a ,front elevation of the same, partly in section; and Fig. 3 is a detail showing the spoon-shaped end of the nozzle.
Similarletters of reference indicate the same parts in the several views.
A in the drawings represents an elastic bulb of soft rubber or other elastic material, which bulb is provided with a short threaded tube, a, to the outer end of which a socket, B, is rigidly attached by being screwed on said tube. A curved detachable nozzle, 0, is fitted by its spoon-shaped end 0" into the socket B, the shank of the nozzle being provided with an enlargement, I), that serves as a handle for conveniently detaching from or inserting the spoon-shaped end 0 of the nozzle into the socket B. \Vhen the insufflator is to be used, the nozzle is drawn out of the socket and the powder filled into the bulb by the spoon-shaped end of thenozzle. The latter is then placed into the socket, after which the device is ready for use.
The device can be used with advantage as a blower for insect-powder and for similar purposes.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. An insuiiiator consisting of an elastic bulb having a fixed socket, and of a detachable nozzle provided with a spoon-shaped end fitted into the socket of the bulb,substantia1ly as set fozth.
2. An insutflator consisting of an elastic bulb having a fixed socket, and of a detachable nozzle provided with a spoon-shaped end fitted into the socket of the bulb, the shank of the nozzle having an enlargement or handle, substantially as specified.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence oftwo subscribing witnesses.-
AUGUST KIBELE.
