Be it known that I, MARTIN L. RINEHART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Richmond, in the county of Jefferson and State of Ohio, .have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Flows; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and

exact description of the same, reference being tions, and in providing a peculiarly-formed mold-board, and in providing a cutter or jointer, formed substantially as shown, and in the several parts and combination of parts hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.

In the accompanying drawings, A represents the mold-board, which is substantially of the form shown in the drawings, and is attached to the post or standard 13 by suitable clamping bolts or rivets, said post or standard being recessed, so as to receive the forward end of the mold-board, and bringing the top or upper portion of said post or standard flush with the working-surface of the mold-board. The forward end of the mold-board is formed beveling, so as to form a recess to receive the rear portion of the cutter or jointer O, as seen in Figs. 1 and 2. The portion of the post or standard 13 abutting against the cutter or jointer G is formed beveling, which completes the recess, so as to hold the cutter or jointer in proper position laterally. The forward portion of the mold-board is slightly concaved, as seen in Fig. 4, the rear portion being convexed, as seen in said Fig. 4. These curves are the greatest at the linesxx, Figs l and 2, and gradually decrease toward the top until the top or upper portion of said moldboard assumes a straight line. The post or standard B is substantially of the form shown in the drawings, thebottom or lower portion being formed so as to attach the share, landside, and mold-board in the ordinary manner. This post or standard is provided with the recess Z2, which is for the purpose of receiving the arm 0 and the key D. The recess b and the arm 0 are formed dovetailed, so as to securely hold the cutter or jointer G in proper position by means of the key D, which is also formed dovetailed. The forward portion of the cutter or jointer G is formed straight when it is designed to be used in plowing sod. In plowing loose ground a cutter or jointer having a curved edge, as indicated by the dotted lines in Figs. 1 and 2, should be used. Thelandside proper is formed in two sections or pieces, E and F, and are attached to the post or standard by suitable clamping-bolts, as seen in Fig. 2. The top or upper section is provided with one or more arms, to which the lower section is bolted or riveted.

The object of forming the landside in sections is to form a landside high enough,-so that no dirt will fall over said landside, and, as it will be seen that the lower portion of the landside will wear much faster than the upper portion, a new section or piece can be supplied at a much less expense than when the entire landside is formed in one piece.

The share G is substantially of the form shown in the drawings, and is provided with the recess H, which comes in line with the reeess formed by the mold-board and standard, .and is for the purpose of receiving the cutter or jointer O, as shown in the drawings.

It will be seen that by providing a high mold-board and landside no dirt or clods will fall over said parts into the furrow. It will also be seen that by attaching the cutter or jointer as shown and described no dirt can be collected and held by said cutter or jointer.
