BITTERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 308,900, dated December 9, 1884.
Appication filed June '23, 198i (Specimens) To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I. N ICKOLA KIEFFER, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Antonio, in the county of Bexar and State of Texas, have invented a new and healthy coniposition of matter to be used as a tonic, and
to be known as the Improved Bitters, of which the following is a specification.
My composition consists of the following ingredients, combined in the proportions stated, viz: Cologne spirits, fifty gallons; Ceylon (in- 1ian10n-bark, (Oinnamomum Zey Zanicunn) two ounces; orange-peel. (Citrus aumntimn,) four ounces; galanga-root, (llfarcmta galanga,) four ounces; zedoary-root, (Gurcuma eedoa riaQ two ounces; cloves, ('aa-y opln llus aromaiicus,) five ounces; star aniseed, (Illicium anisatunn) two ounces; coriander, (Coricmdrum satz'oum,) eight ounces; Roman chamomile, (Ant/minis nobilis,) two ounces; cassia-buds, Cinmmwnmm cassia,) four ounces; juniper-berries, (Jzmiperus communis,) eight ounces; gentian-root, (Gent'iana Z'utecu) four ounces; Wormwood, (Artemisic absinthimm) nine ounces; peppermint herb,
to be used as a stomach-hitters, consisting of Cologne spirits, Ceylon cinnamon,orange-peel, galangaroot, zedoary-root, cloves, star aniseed, coriander, Roman chamomile-flowers, cassia buds, juniper berries, gent-inn root, Wormwood, peppermint herb, calaniusroot, older-flowers, lavender-flowers, cardamomsced, and inace, in the proportions specified.
