Description

' NITED STATES PATENT OFFICEQ FATRIOK O. MONE, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
BEER OR DRAINING STAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 306,634, dated October 14, 1884.
Application filed August 24,1883. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, PATRICK G. MONE, of the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Beer or Draining Stands,
which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is avertical section of a stand embodying my invention in line w-x, Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a vertical section in line y y, Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both figures.
My invention consists of a stand for vbarrooms, &c., formed of glass back, side, and bottom pieces, and a frame, as will be hereinafter fully set forth.
Referring to the drawings, A represents a stand usually employed in bar-rooms for beer, &c., the same consisting of a back piece, a, side pieces, I), and bottom or tray 0, the several parts being formed of glass and fitted to wood-work or frame (I of the stand, the joints being cemented or otherwise sealed and thus tightly closed. The rear of the back and side pieces and under side of the bottom piece are painted in imitation of stone, marble, slate, &c., the coating of paint being backed with metal, preferably tinfoil, thus protecting the paint, so that it cannot-be scratched or otherwise injured and affected by moisture and atmosphere, and permitting the faces to be kept clean and sweet, the stand presenting a beautiful appearance, the painted designs on the 3 5 glass whereof may be raised.
B represents a board, which is connected with the back of the frame d and separated therefrom, forming a space, e, to which air is accessible when the stand is secured to a wall, thus preventing dampness at the rear of the stand and corrosion of the metal backing. The bottom of tray 0 is depressed on its upper face, forming converging inclines leading from the sides and ends to the central outlet, f, which allows the dripping-s to pass into the discharge- 4 5 pipe 0, attached thereto.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The stand A, consisting of the frame d, back and side pieces, a b, of glass, ornamented and backed, as stated, and a glass bottom piece or tray, a, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
2. The frame d, with glass back and side pieces, a b, and glass bottom piece or tray, 0, in combination with a back board, B, secured to the frame, an air-space, 6, existing between said board and frame, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
3. A glass back piece, a, glass side pieces, I), and a glass bottom piece or tray, 0, the latter having its upper face depressed to form inclines converging from the sides and ends toward a central outlet, substantially as set 65 forth.
