Description
July 31, 1962 G. RAMON COMBINATION STILT AND FLOAT IN V EN TOR. m/o EMa/x/ United States Patent O M 3,046,678 COMBINATION STILT AND FLOAT Gino Ramon, 2317 N. Palmer St., Milwaukee, Wis. Filed Feb. 8, 1961, Ser. No. 87,881 1 Claim. (Cl. 367.6)
This invention relates to improvementsin combination stilts and floats, and more particularly to a novel combination stilt and float for Working in plastic materials such as cement, terrazzo and the like.
An object of the invention is to provide a device of the type having reversible pins for use on cement or in terrazzo. l
Another object of the invention is to provide a removable handle which may be employed to use the device as a oat in smoothing plastic surface materials.
Other and further objects of the invention Will appear as the description proceeds, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a view in perspective of a combination float and stilt embodying the invention.
FIG. 2 is an inverted plan View of the same.
FIG. 3 is a vertical sectional view taken on line 3 3 of FIG. 1.
FIG. 4 is a View partly in elevation and partly in section of the device With handle in place and stilt pins reversed.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, the numeral refers to the device generally, having a body or surface bearing pl-ate 11 which is planar on the lower face 12 and has the internally threaded bosses y13, 14, 15 and 16 adjacent the side edges 17 and 18 on the upper surface 19. p
A reversible long pin 20 is retained in each boss 13, 14, and 16, and each pin 20 is releasably xed by a nut `2,1.
, 3,046,678 Patented July 31, 1962 ICC 2 Angular strap holders 22 retain the ankle strap 23, V,and are releasably secured by one pair of pins 20 and nuts 21, and the horizontally slotted lstrap holders 24 retain the toe strap 25 and are in turn Vreleasably secured by the remaining pair of pins 20 and nuts 21.
A handle member 30 is releasably secured to the upper surface 19 of the plate 11 by the Ibolts 31 and 32 when the device is desired to be employed as a float for smoothing plastic materials. The pins 20 are then reversed to protrude upwardly. When they are yso disposed as shown in FIG. 1, the stilts may be used for Working in terra cotta `or the like.
It will be understood that the device is capable of many modifications in structure and design, without departing from the spirit of the invention, within the scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed and desired to be secured by Letters Patent of the United States, is:
A stilt comprising a body having a lower at surface, a pair of spaced bosses thereon adjacent each side margin thereof having threaded apertures extending therethrough, `long threaded pins received in said apertures and depend ing therefrom, whereby said body portion is( spaced from an underlying supporting surface by said pins, angular strap holders retained by said pins, and foot retaining straps held by said holders.
