RUSSEL FRISBIE, OF MIDDLETOW'N, CONNECTICUT.
BENCH-HOOK.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 29,070, dated July 10, 1860.
T o all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RUSSEL FRIsBrE, of Middletown, in the county of Middlesex, in the State of Connecticut, have invented a new and Improved Bench-Hook; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reerence being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specication.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
Figure l represents the hook as applied to the bench. Fig. 2 is a side elevation showing its several parts and operation, the hook a being elevated and held secure by the cam lever B which is operated by the spring d. Fig. 3 represents the under side view as attached to the bench.
The nature of my invention consists in so arranging its several parts as to be adapted to all benches the case c which iS secured to the bench by the flange as shown in Fig.
| l which receives the hook and is held in the desired place by the action of the cam lever B which presses the lower end against the curved edge of the case c, by the force of the spring d. The cam lever B is hinged to a case or stand F which is connected to the upper case c and fastened to the under side of the bench aS shown in Fig. 2. By pressing the thumb on the end of the cam lever at spring l the hook is free to be moved u or down. The cam lever may be used having a weightI in place of the spring.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The cani lever in combination with the case and bench hook substantially as herein described.
Dated at Middletown in the State of Connecticut, this 31st day of May A. D. 1860.
