3 Claims. (Cl. 4177) This invention relates to infants bathing devices and has particular reference to an improved dressing table therefor.

The invention relates to the type of infants bathing devices which includes a flexible tub carried by a crossleg support and with a dressing table movable from an inactive position at the rear of the tub to an operative position overlying the tub for dressing and undressing the infant thereon.

The dressing table includes a panel connected at its opposite longitudinal edges with front and rear bars which are maintained in spaced relation by end rods. Heretofore the end rods have been inserted in the ends of the front longitudinally extending bar and the length of the dressing table has been relatively shorter than the length of the support. In order to provide a dressing table which is substantially the full length of the support and which extends beyond the ends of the tub, the present invention provides improved connections of the end rods with the front longitudinally extending bar.

Another object of the invention is to connect the end rods with the front longitudinally extending bar inwardly of the ends of the bar which permits of the convenient release of the end rods therefrom for removal of the panel while providing a relatively longer dressing table.

With the foregoing and other objects in view, reference is now made to the following specification and accompanying drawings in which the preferred form of the invention is illustrated.

Referring to the drawings, the infants bathing device comprises a collapsible support for a flexible and collapsible tub 11 and a dressing table 12. The support 10 consists of

14 and 15 which are pivotally connected together medially of their length on pivot pins 16 with the legs 14 connected together by upper and lower longitudinally extending

rails

17 and 18, and the legs 15 connected together by upper and lower longitudinally extending

19 and 20. The tub 11 is provided with front and rear tunnels 21 and 22 through which the front and rear longitudinally extending

rails

17 and 19 extend for supporting the tub on the

The cross-legs are swingable on the pivot pins 16 from an expanded relation in which the upper and lower ends thereof are spaced apart to a collapsed relation in which the legs are substantially in 2,841,797 Patented July 8, 1958 parallel relation. The tub is collapsed with the folding of the support.

The dressing table 12 includes a rectangular frame composed of front and

rear bars

31 and 32, the forward ends of the rods being olfset downwardly as at 33 adjacent the upturned ends 31 thereof. The upturned ends 32 are secured in openings 34 in the under side of the rear longitudinally extending bar 25 of the frame, while the front longitudinally extending bar 24 is provided with slots 35 which extend inwardly from the under side thereof and terminating in bores 36 extending outwardly from the slots respectively toward the ends of the bar. The upwardly extending ends 31 of the end rods project into the slots and are formed with outwardly extending terminals 37 which slidably fit in the bores 36 and secure the forward ends of the rods to the front bar.

The panel 28 of the dressing table 12 may be fashioned of any desired material and as illustrated, the same is of woven fabric and is provided with front and rear flexible tab-s 39 located at the ends thereof and which are adapted to extend under the front and

26 and 27. Interengageable means such as snap fasteners 40 are provided on the tabs and panel for releasably fastening the tabs to the under side of the panel. The tabs may be conveniently released for facilitating the withdrawal of the

end rods

26 and 27 from the slots 35 for removing the panel 28 if desired.

While the preferred form of the invention has been shown and described herein, it is to be understood that the same is not so limited but shall cover and include any and all modifications thereof which fall within the purview of the invention.

What is claimed is:

1. In an infants bathing device and associated dressing table and support therefor, means mounting said dressing table on said support for movement from an inactive position at the rear of the tub to an active position overlying the tub, said dressing table including a panel and a generally rectangular frame consisting of front and rear bars and end rods with the panel stretched between the front and rear bars, said front bar having slots spaced from the ends thereof and extending inwardly from the under side thereof and with bores extending outwardly from the slots respectively toward the outer ends of said front bar, and said rods being secured to said rear bar and having upwardly extending forward ends provided with outwardly extending terminals releasably engaging in said slots respectively in said front bar with the terminals fitting said bores.

In an infants bathing device and associated dressing table and support therefor, means mounting said dressing table on said support for movement from an inactive position at the rear of the tub to an active position overlying the tub, said dressing table including a panel and a generally rectangular frame consisting of front and rear bars and end rods with the panel stretched between the front and rear bars, said front bar having slots spaced from the ends thereof and extending inwardly from the under side thereof and with bores extending outwardly from the slots respectively toward the outer ends of the bar, and said end rods being of general U-sh'aped formation having upwardly extending forward and rear ends with .the ,forward ends provided with outwardly extending terminals releasably engaging in said slots respectively with the terminals fitting saidbores and the rear upwardly extending ends of said rods secured in openings respectively in the rear bar.

The invention of claim 2, said panel being fashioned of fabric material and having front and rear tabs at the ends thereof adapted to extend under the front and rear bars of the frame, and snap fastening means carried by ,4. said tabs and said panel for releasably securing the tabs agains the under side of the panel outwardly of the end rods.
