1 Claim. (Cl. 220-21) This invention relates to a nipple kit, and more particularly to a kit which consists of a metal carrying de vice with slots therein for carrying an assortment of various sized plumbing nipples.

An object of this invention is to provide a nipple kit wherein the nipples will always be retained in a predetermined position.

Another object of this invention is to provide a nipple kit which will carry a complete assortment of various sized nipples.

A further object of this invention is to provide a nipple kit having spacing means therein for retaining the assortment of nipples in spaced-apart relationship.

A still further object of this invention is to provide a nipple kit which is simple and eflicient in construction and durable and lasting in use.

These together with other objects and advantages which will become subsequently apparent reside in the details of construction and operation as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming a part hereof, where-v in like numerals refer to like parts throughout, and in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view, showing the vnipple kit forming the subject of this invention;

Figure 2 is a sectional view taken substantially along the section line 2-2 of Figure 1; and

Figure 3 is a sectional view taken substantially along the section line 33 of Figure 2.

Referring now more specifically to the accompanying drawings, it will be seen that the improved nipple kit forming the subject of this invention includes, as shown in Figure 2, a base 10, having a pair of vertical end walls 12 extending upwardly therefrom at each end.

The upper edges of the end walls 12 are connected together by means of a longitudinal member 14. The longitudinal member 14 is relatively thin and has the side edges thereof turned inwardly toward each other to form a handle for carrying the kit.

The base has secured to the sides thereof a pair of vertical side walls 16. The side walls 16 are greater in height at one end than at the other end.

A plurality of transverse dividers 18 extend between "ice and are attached to the side walls 16. The dividers 18 are of the same height, relatively, to economize in material and are corrugated in cross section and so positioned that the corrugations of one divider are axially aligned with the corrugations of the other dividers. The dividers 18v are so positioned that nipples 20 may be placed in the corrugations thereof and between the dividers. The dividers 18 are progressively elevated and spaced above the base 10 from one end wall 12 to the other end wall 12 in the direction of the increasing height of the side walls 16. Thus, shallow nipples will be placed adjacent the lower end of the wall 16 and nipples of increasing size will be spaced between these dividers in progressive direction toward the higher end of side wall 16 and the dividers are interchangeable in attaching the same.

In practical use, the kit is filled with an assortment of various sized nipples and it is possible to tell at a glance which nipples are included in the kit. When one or more nipples have been used by a plumber, upon returning to the shop he will be able to tell immediately which nipples need to be replaced.

From the foregoing, the construction and operation of the device will be readily understoodand further explanation is believed to be unnecessary. However, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction shown and described, and accordingly all suitable modifications and equivalents may be' resorted to, falling within the scope of the appended claim.

What is claimed as new is as follows:

A nipple kit comprising a base, a pair of vertical end walls extending upwardly from said base, a longitudinal member connecting the upper edges .of said end walls, a pair of side walls extending upwardly from said base, said side walls being higher at one end than the other end, and a plurality of transverse dividers of the same height relatively connected between said side walls, said dividers being corrugated in cross section with the corrugations of each divider being aligned with the corrugations of the other dividers, said dividers being progressively elevated above and spaced from the base from one end wall to the other in the direction of the change in height of the side walls.
