4 Claims. (Cl. 273-144) The present invention relates to a gaming device.

It is one object of the present invention to provide a gaming device which comprises a number of balls having different colours and forming at least two different groups, and a transparent tube member closed at one end and communicating through its other end with a container, so that the balls can run from the container into the tube member so as to form there a pile, the said tube member forming an attachment clip of the device, and the container for the balls being provided in the portion of the device bearing the attachment clip.

With this and other objects in view, which will become apparent in the following detailed description, the present invention will be clearly understood in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which the only figure is an elevation of the device partly in section.

Referring now to the drawing, the barrel 1 of the device contains an ink reservoir (not shown). The ink reservoir carries the nib portion 2 with the writing ball 3 housed therein.

The usual protective cap for the nib portion 2 is denoted 4 which protective cap 4 is put on the rear end of the barrel 1 of the device when using the latter as a ball-pen, as indicated in the drawing. The protective cap 4 has an end portion 5 screwed on at 6 which carries an attachment clip 7. In the end portion 5 a container 8 having a sloping bottom 11 is provided for a number of balls 10.

In the attachment clip 7 a tube 9 is provided in communication with the container 8, into which tube the balls can run from the container 8 in order to form there a pile, as shown. The attachment clip 7 consists of transparent material, e. g. of a suitable synthetic plastic material, so that the pile of balls is visible from outside. The end portion 5 of the protective cap 4 comprising the container 8, may also be made of transparent material.

The balls 10 form at least two easily distinguishable groups, in that they have for example different colours or are difierentiated otherwise from one another. When using the device for example for playing a game, the balls form for example, three differently coloured groups according to (a) won, (b) lost and (c) drawn games.

When using the device, the player mixes the balls 10 in the container 8 for example, by shaking the same, whereupon he holds the device in such a manner that the balls run into the tube 9 and form there the pile as shown. The results indicated by the balls according to their colour are then read off and can be written down at once 'ice in succession by the aid of the

In order to facilitate reading, the tube 9 containing the pile of balls 10 may be provided with transverse indicating marks which for example, divide the pile into groups of three balls each.

The invention can of course be applied to ink writing implements as well as to writing implements with lead or chalk cores. Moreover various modifications of the embodiment of the device as illustrated in the drawing are possible. For example it is not essential to provide the tube 9 in the attachment clip 7, but the container 8 with the conduit or tube connected to it could in this case both be arranged within the barrel of the writing implement, which in this case consists of transparent material. Also the tube receiving the pile of balls, instead of being made of transparent material, could have a slot through which the balls are visible.

Although the device described is intended mainly for playing simulated football games, it can of course serve as a playing device for all sorts of games and races, which allow in a convenient manner the noting of the results indicated by the balls.

While I have disclosed one embodiment of the present invention, it is to be understood that this embodiment is given by example only and not in a limiting sense, the scope of the present invention being determined by the objects and the claims.

I claim:

1. A gaming device comprising a longitudinal body and a clip member formed integrally with said body and extending substantially parallel to and spaced apart from said body in order to permit attachment of said longitudinal body to the pocket of any apparel, at least a portion of said longitudinal body being hollow and defining a chamber and said clip member constituting a tubular member having a longitudinal channel closed at its far end and communicating with said chamber, a plurality of balls forming at least two groups of different color disposed in said chamber and adapted to enter said channel upon inverting said longitudinal body, the diameter of said channel being slightly larger than that of said balls, so that the latter are aligned in said clip member upon entering said channel, and means for visibly indicating the position of said balls in said clip member.

2. The device, as set forth in claim 1, in which at least the said clip member is of transparent material.

The device, as set forth in claim 1, in which the said clip member has at its outer face a plurality of marks constituting said indicating means and disposed substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of said clip member and spaced apart at a distance amounting to a plurality of the diameter of said balls.

4. The device, as set forth in claim 1, in which said chamber in the longitudinal body has a sloping bottom.
