Referring now co Fig. 6, there is shown a modified form of the invention differing from the first forrn in the feeder mechanism.- v
In this form, the casing.l' is provided with an end wall 11' now devoid ofthe opening 12, the front wall 13 being provideclwith an arcuate slot 14 in which rides a shaft 60. A knob 41 is suitably secured the outer end of shaft 60 while a feeder arm 42 pivotally mountecl at its npper end by a shaft 61 is suitably secured 10 the inner end of the shaft 60. The lower end of the feeder 42 is integrally formed with a laterally bent finger- 22- -for the same purpose as the finger 22 cf the first form.- lt Will be noted that the spring action is the same as hereinbefore described.
In other respects the form of the invention shown in Fig. 6 is the same as that shown in Figs. 1 through 5, and like referencie numeralsidentify like parts throughout the several views.
Referring now to Fig. 7, there isshown a still further modified form of the invention wherein the casing 10" is provided with.an end wall 11 having a relatively large elongated'rectangular opening 44. A manually operable slide 45 is provided on its linder surface wit-h serrations 46 in mesh with the serrated portion 19 -of the feeder member 16, the slide 45 being integrally formed at each and with flat extensions 47 Which slidably ahnt the undersurface of the end Wall 11". Thus, the slide 45 is maintained in sliding contact with the inner surface 01 end wall 11" by the feeder member 16, as will be obvious. Upon sliding the slide 45 away from top closure 31, the trigger 22 Will be rotated toward top closure 31 to dispense cigarettes in a manner sirnilar to the first form.
Link rneans, not shown, may, of course, be provided connecting flap 37 and feeder member 16, as will be apparent to those skilled in the art.
In other respects the form of the invention shown in like reference nnmerals identify like arts throughout the several views.
Referring now to Fig. 8, there is shown a still fnrther modified form cf the invention, diifering from the pre vious forms in the rovision cf an L-shaped transparent window 48 in side wall 13, the latter being formed of metal or other neu-transparent material, permitting the cigarettes 34 t0 be displayei One end of cover 31 terminates short of end wall 34 of casing 10and is provided with rectangular cutouts 35 whichreceive the tongues 36 of three top flaps 37. A pin 38 (which can be provided with a spring) passes through the end of cover 31 surrounding the cutouts 35 and through the tonges 36, thus rotatably mounting the flaps 37.
Fig. 7 is the same as that shown in Figs. 1 through 5, and 1 Inother respeets the form cf the invention shown in Fig. 8 is the Same: as that shown in Figs. 1 through S, and like reference numerals identify like parts throughout the several views.
The side walls of the casing may, of course, be slidably mounted, as will be apparent to those skilled in the art.
While we have illustrated and described the preferred embodiments of our invention, it is to be understood that we do not limit ourselves to the precise construetions herein disclosed and the right is reserved to all ehanges and modifications coming within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claim.
Having thus described onr invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent A cigarette dispenser comprising a hollow casing having bottom, front, back and end walls and being open at the top, said casing being adapted to contain a pack of loose cigarettes, top closure means for said casing, said top closure means including a flap at one end of said top closure means, said flap being pivotally monnted for outward movernent,a cigarette -feecling member rotatably mounted on the front wall of said casing, saidfeeding mernber comprising a unitary transverse finger member adapted to be received in a recess i11"the bottom wall and 10 underlie the bottom end of a cigarette dispensed below said flap and a head portion, said head portion having serrations on its periphery projecting beyond one of the end Walls of the casing, and a cutout .porticn in one face thereof, an elongated spring having one and secured along the freut wall of the casing and having its otl1er end extending into said cutout for retaining the feeding 111cmber in a retraeted position, with means for guiding the cigarettes to the feed finger comprising baflles mounted in staggered relation on the front and back walls of the casing, said bafl1es projecting substantially to the middle cf the casing, one of said bafl1es and its freut wall connection being removed 10 form a slot in whichthe feeding mernber moves to discharge a cigarette from the casing.
