JAR-HOLDER.
EPESIFIGATION forming part of Lettersllatent No. 276,064, dated April 17, 1883.
Application filed October 25, 1882. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, NATHAN MORSE, of Akron, in the county of Summit and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improt'ementin J ar-Holders, (which has not been patented to myself, nor to others with my knowledge and consent,in any foreign country, and which, according to my knowledge and belief, has not been in public use in theUnited States for more than two years prior to this application,) of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to that class of jarholders' that are used to remove such can-top as are screwed on.
The objectof myinvention is to providea sim' ple, cheap, and effectual clamp by which such can-tops may be easily removed or replaced.
My invention consists in the device illustrated in the-accompanying drawings,in which Figure 1 is a plan of my improved jar-holder, and Fig. 2 an inside elevation of one half and a section at the line as 00.
In the drawings, A is a metallic spring-band, continued and terminating at either end in handles a a, and provided on its inner surface formed in one piece with the said spring, and
channeled or grooved upon its inner surface, as shown, of the band B, of rubber or other suitable material, seated in said groove or channel, substantially as described, and for the purpose specified.
