2 Claims. (CI. 32-19) This invention relates to improvements in devices for making dentures, and more particularly to means for establishing the dimensions and other characteristics de sired of the denture. I
A dentist at present uses a device called a bite-guide, which gives a dentist a better view of a bite, and enables the dentist to determine the center and width of the teeth, also to determine the length of the lip line. On the biteguide structure are numerous dimensional markings which are noted and marked on a pad to furnish information necessary in making the denture. These pads and notations are often lost or misplaced and not available when needed.
It is, therefore, an object of this invention to provide a small frame removably mounted on a bite-guide to temovably hold a card or the like hearing the information desired for making a denture.
These and other objects are attained by the novel structure and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and illustrated by the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof, and in which:
Fig. 1 is a front view of a bite-guide carrying a card holder embodying the invention.
Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the holder.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of a plate, bite-guide and card holder.
Fig. 4 is a front elevation of the structure shown in Fig. 3.
Referring to the drawings, there is shown a bite-guide 1 similar to the device described in my pending application serial number, 422,902; filed April 13, 1954. The bite-guide has frame structure upon which is removably mounted a holder 2 for slidably receiving a small card or tab 5 which is adapted to receive in writing or otherwise, the information desired for making a denture. A tooth 9 is placed in a desired position and held in place on the bite-guide by Wax or a similar substance the name of the patient and other information is ,written on the tab 5. The frame or holder is preferably made of a sheet of metal having its sides folded to provide grooves or recesses to slidably receive the card 5.
The above description is to be considered as illustrative and not limitative of the invention of which modifications can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
' The invention having been described, what is claimed is:
1. In combination with a bite-guide, a frame slidably and removably mounted on the bite-guide, said frame having channels or grooves to slidably receive and hold a card to carry information regarding determinations of the bite-guide.
2. The structure of claim 1 further characterized by the frame being formed from a flat sheet of metal having its sides bent back to provide channels or grooves.
