Description

(Mode1.)
ELF. PRICE. FISHING TACKLE GASE- No.- 275,703. Patentgd Apr. 10,1883.-
- UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY F. PRICE, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
FISHING-TACKLE CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 275,703, dated April 10, 1883.
I V Application filed January 27, 1883. (ModeL) forming part hereof.
Of the drawings, Figure 1 is a view in perspective of the shape and configuration of the case, showing one-half (obverse) of the internal shape and'configuration of same. Fig. 2 shows the other half (reverse) of the internal shape and configuration of the case. Fig. 3 is a sectional view through Figs. 1 and 2 atA B O D.
Referring to the drawings, Eigbl shows, a
. short distance from each end of case, a shallow partition or division,a, crossing same, its object being to retain in place and secure a narrow strip of cork, b, between itself and extreme inside end of case. Occupying the central'part of the inside of case is a shallow well or depression, 0, its top flush with theinside of case, and in depth sufficient to retain in place such articles as may be placed therein. This well or depression is crossed by two strips of metal or other material, d. In Fig. 2 the divisions or separations are made, as believed, most convenient; but no claim for novelty is made, but are necessary as part of the cdmbiuation desired.
In usethe snelled flies and hooks are inserted into the cork, (retained in place by uprights c, as shown,) and the snells to which the hooks are attached are passed from either end under the well or depression through the compartments shown in sectional view, Fig. 3.
In the well or depression coiled lines, leaders, &;c., may be compressed and passed into same through the spaces between the crossed strips, when their natural elasticity, after removing pressure, will cause them to resume their circular form and be effectually retained in said Well or depression by the guards or keepers, as shown. p
In the case one partition serves as the bottom for both cases, and the two shallow box-lids may be hinged both on one side or at opposite sides, as shown in Fig. 1.
Having thus described my invention, I claim and desire to-secure by Letters Patent of the United States- A fishing-tackle case consisting of two com- 5 5 partments having a single partition adapted to serve as the bottom of both, and provided with the partitions a, cork strips 1), and well E. N. WEAD, W. E. QUINN.
