NITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE BEVERLY, OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND.
BLIND-STOP.
SPEGIFlICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 273,937, dated March 13, 1883.
Application filed December 22, 1882. (N0 model.)
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE BEVERLY, of Providence,in the Stateof Rhode Island, have invented an Improvement in Fasteners for Window-Blind Slats, of which the followingis a specification.
The nature of my invention consists in a transversely-perforated screw and abindingnut for securing the slatholding wire attached to the blind-rod, as hereinafter fully set forth.
Figure 1 represents a partial elevation of a window-blind provided with my improved slatfastener. Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the same. Figs. 3 and 4 are enlarged views of the fastening mechanism.
In the drawings, A is the frame of the window-blind, B B B are the slats, and U is the blind-rod. D is a screw adapted for screwing into the frame A, and is provided with a perforation, a, of snfticient size to readily receive the holding-wire E, which is provided at its upper end with an eye, b, adapted to receive the screw F for securing the holding-wire to the side ofthe rod 0- Upon the thread of the screw D is placed the binding-nut G, which serves to secure the holding-wire E in any (lesired position in the perforation av of the screw, thus serving to hold the blind-rod and the blind-slats in any position in which they may be placed.
The binding-nut G may be placed on the outer side of the holding-wire E, as shown in Fig. 4, if preferred, and when in operation the holding-wire, passing through the transverse perforation of the screw, will serve to prevent; the screw from turning; in the wood of the blind-frame. Between the holding-wire E and binding-nut G is placed the washer'li.
I claim as my invention In a fastener for window-blind slats, the combination of the transversely-perforated screw, the binding-nut, and the holding-wire, sulr stantially as described.
G EORGE BEVERLY.
