1 Claim. (Cl. 132-81) This invention pertains to toilet kits such as may be made in compact form so that it may be easily packed for traveling and the like.
An object of this invention is to provide a kit containing in one compact assembly a safety-razor, shaving brush and soap, tooth brush and tooth paste.
Generally stated, this invention provides a simple tubular casing one end of which is closed and provided with a screw socket for attachment to a safety-razor head. The casing provides a container for a tooth brush and a tube of tooth paste. The open end of the casing is closed by a screw cap formed as a sub-container for a shaving brush. A short shaving brush has a back formed `with a screw fitting a screw attachment in the open end of the sub-container so that the brush may be mounted therein either inside the sub-container or protruding therefrom for use. A cap for the sub-container has a cake of shaving soap fitted therein.
A preferred embodiment of this invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a side view, partly in section, of a toilet kit embodying this invention,
Figure 2 is a side view taken at right angles to that of Figure 1,
Figure 3 is an exploded view of the casing parts,
. Figure 4 is a section on line 4 4 of Figure 2,
Figure 5 is a face view on a reduced scale of a case for the kit, and Y Figure 6 is a side view of Figure 5.
Referring now to the accompanying drawing, 1 designates a casing of tubular form, of metal or other suitable material. The upper end of the casing 1 is closed and formed with a projection 2 in which a screw socket 3 is formed. A safety-razor head of standard form has a plate 4 and a clamp 5, the latter having a screw 6 passing through the plate 4. The socket 3 is tted to receive the screw 6 whereby said head is mounted on the casing 1 as a handle for use in shaving.
The casing 1 provides a container for the tooth brush 7 and a tube of tooth paste 8 or other dentrifrice package. The brush 7 may be shortened as compared to the usual tooth brush, so that the length of the casing 1 need not be excessive. A closure for the casing 1 is provided by a sub-container 9, also of tubular form and of substantially the same diameter as the casing 1. This sub-container may have a thread 10 fitting a complementary thread 11 on the casing 1 for attachment thereto. A transverse partition 12, adjacent the thread 10, provides a closure for the casing 1.
The open end of the sub-container 9 has a screw socket 13. A shaving brush 14 has its back provided with a thread 15 fitting the socket 13 so that it may be screwed into said socket with the brush 14 either inside the container or protruding therefrom so that said container and the casing 1 may serve as a handle for the brush. The open end of this container also has an external thread 16 adapted to receive a screw cap 17. A cake of shaving soap 18 may be tted in the cap 17. Thus the assembly shown in Figures 1 and 2 provides a complete toilet kit for shaving and care of the teeth.
As shown in Figures 5 and 6, a case 19, of metal, plastic or other suitable material, may be provided to receive the kit and one or more packages 20 of extra razor blades. The case 19 may be made in the form of two mutually fitting parts or halves hinged together at 21 and provided with a suitable clasp 22 to secure the same in closed position.
It will be seen, therefore, that this invention provides a handy kit for travelers, service men and others, which occupies little space and keeps the essential articles needed for shaving and tooth care together in a compact package. The parts are so arranged as to be easy to handle in use and easy to keep clean. When assembled in package form all the elements are secure against accidental damage. The package is small enough to be carried in a pocket, on a cartridge belt, and similar easily accessible places, without inconvenience.
We claim:
ln a toilet kit of the kind described and wherein is included a conventional tubular container closed at one end and open at the opposite end and formedl at the closed end with a screw threaded socket for engaging the screw of a conventional safety razor head, the open end of the container being screw threaded for engaging a tubular sub-container, a tubular sub-container closed at one end and open at the opposite end, the closed end being screw-threaded and connecting with the screw threaded open end of the conventional container aforesaid, said sub-container being also screw threaded in teriorly at its open end for engaging the screw threaded head of a shaving brush, a shaving brush formed with a screw threaded head and threadedly seating in the threaded open end of the sub container, whereby the brush may be projected either inwardly of the sub container when not in use or outwardly thereof for use in shaving, said sub container being also screw threaded exteriorly at its open end for engaging a screw threaded cap thereat, and a deeply cupped cap screw threaded interiorly and engaging the exterior screw threads of the sub-container, said cap being cupped deeply enough to provide room therein for a small cake of soap, the tubular container, sub-container and cap being of substantially the same diameter and presenting the assembled parts free of any lateral projections.
