VSPECIFICATION forming partV of Letters Patent No. 270,038, dated January 2, 1853, Application filed April 29, 1882. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY'JERWIN, a citizen ot' the United States, residing at Marysville,in the county of Union and State of Ohio, have invented certain newand useful Improvements in Eaves-Trough Hangers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description ot' the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which itappertains to make and use the same.`
My invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in the class of eaves-trough hangers having forits object the production of a cheap and simple hanger by which the eavestrough can be easily and readily secured in position, and also removed, when desired, for repair or replacing by a new one; and to this end the invention consists in a novel construction ot hanger, as will be hereinafter fnlly described, and settorth in the claim hereto annexed.
Referring tothe accompanying drawings, Figure l is a side eleva-tion. Fig; .lis a crosssection,l and Figs. 3 and 4 are detail views.
In the drawings, A represents the eavestrough, and B thel cross-bar ofthe hanger, provided with the usual strap, C, by Which the hanger is attached to the root'.
D represents a metallic band encircling thel bod y of the eavestrou gh transversely, and has atits ends T-shaped heads d, adapted to enter corresponding slots, b, in the cross-bar B, near its ends, whereby the elasticity of the metallic band D will spring back said headsd, so that the ears d thereof will rest on the upper side ot' cross bar B, thus securing the trough i'n position.
The above-described hanger combines simplicty and cheapness in construction, While permitting the eaves-trough to be easily and readily attached to or detached therefrom.
Having thus fully described my invention, what l claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is l The hereindescriln-d eaves-trough hanger,
consisting of the encircling metallic band D,
having T-shaped heads d at its ends, and the 'crossbar B, provided with corresponding holes HENRY J. ERWIN.
