SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 269,385, dated December 19, 1882.
Application filed September 9, 1882.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID W. CHALMERS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Springfield, in the county of Sangamon and State of Illinois, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in atch-Regulators; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, makinga partof this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a plan View of my device, and Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view.
This invention has relation to an improvement on the micrometer watch-regulator described in Letters Patent No. 229,215, dated June 22, 1880; and it consists in the construction and novel arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, the letter a designates the watch-plate, and b acircular recess therein, having an offset-recess, c, in communication with its outer portion.
(1 represents a disk, which is seated in the recess 1), said disk being provided with teeth 6 to engage an operating-pinion, g, which is seated in the offset-recess c. The stem or post of the pinion is rigidly connected thereto, and is provided with aheadJt, which is squared or. slotted, so as to be easily turned with an appropriate instrument.

The toothed disk (I, seated in a circular recess, b, of the watch-plate, having an offset-recess, a, holding the toothed operating-pinion g, and the tribranched graduated arcplate I, spanning the disk-recess and extending over the offset-recess, and forming the upper bearings for the disk and pinion, in combination, substantially as specified.
