l vvThis invention relates toimprovements in Va package of stacked receptacles,
The-main objects o1 this .invention are:l .'First, 4to provide .a package Aof stacked .receptacles such as drinking cupsin whichthe receptacles are fully protected'by an ,enclosing `wrap-- per which retains them in their stacked condition, `the receptacles 'being vinlly protected, the package "being .such thatonegpackage of stacked cupsmaybeinested with other similar packages. Second, to provide a package of .stacked'receptacles wrapped in a heat scalable transparent wrapper. and having a labelassociated therewith, 'the "label'being within and .visible through the wrapper and .supported jin positionby'the 'wrap- Y Per.
' "Third, to provide a receptacle package of the character described vin which 'the vtopY receptacle ofthe stack is fullycovered orprotected 'by .the wrapper.
Fourth, to.prov`idefa receptacle 'package'having these advantages 'which may be `.very economically pro'duced and one `whiclris."liglily .attractive inappearance Further `objects Arelating .to details and econ- -f omies of the invention will 'appear ,from thedescription .to follow. time invention is deiinedin the claims,
Fig. 41.is :a top perspective view-of apacksage of drinking cups embodying my invention.
Fig. 2 is anenlargedifragmentaryyiem mainly in vertical section on linec2--I2 of Fig. 3.
.Fig's isa bottomplan view.
Fig. 4 isan-enlarged I.fragmentary view cna :line v.corresponding to Vline lof Fig. 2,
Fig. 5 is an enlarged .zfragmentary view on a line corresponding to line 5-5 of Fig. 2.
The; package of my invention illustrated comprises la v"stack lofpaper kcups 'i `xhaving 'inset'bottoms 2 and provided with bead-like rims 3 at their upper edges. These cups are shouldered at 4 adjacent their upper ends. The cups are so proportioned in their taper that they are compactly nested as illustrated. The stack of nested cups is enclosed in a Wrapper 5 in the embodiment illustrated of transparent heat sealable material which is wrapped sidewise around the stack of cups, the edges of the wrapper being brought into overlapping relation as shown at 6-6 in Fig. 4 and the overlapping edges being heat sealed, preferably at least that part embracing the portion of the stack constituted by the rim portion of the receptacle. The ends 'I and 8 of the wrapper are gathered or brought together and heat sealed at 9 and l0, the bottom end of 9 Claims. ((1203-65) `so that .tnegpa'ckage'mayi'be quite roughly hanstack. 'Thiistop `that when turned inwardlyit extends substan- 2 the wrapper being 'tucked lintothe recessed bottom `endof the bottom cup of the stack as shown :The top Aend '8 of the wrapper is turned or 'tuckedintothe onen end ofthe top cup of the end'is desirablyof such length tially to `the bottom of the top receptacle permitting apackage to benested withother packages-without rupturingthereof.
'Thepackagepreferablylincludes alabel H in the form of a Strip .0r band which Yis disposed -within Athe wrapperiacing outwardlyso as to be .readable through Ythetransparent wrapper. The
ends of this llabel 'are secured with the gathered heatsealed .endsgpf the wrapper so that the label is positioned andsupported .against `displacement andin position vfor attractive display.
vrThe receptacle of vmy v*invention is `effectively protected 'throughout andI the Wrapper is secured dled without danger of displacing the package.
'Designs vc r ornamentations on 'the receptacles .are 4eiiectively displayedxwhen'wrallped of transparent material.
I havenotrillustrated'the receptacles as `bear- ;ing 'ornamental .'designs. -ttiwould :be'understood Lthatnnly'the lornamental 'designs vof the bottom .receptacles of .the-stack would be displayed as theothers `are obscured :by vthe nesting.
.Having 'thus 'described myinvention, what I claim as "new and ldesire 4to secure by Letters Patentis:
