1 Claim.

This invention relates to an electric shaver light attachment.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an electric shaver light attachment adapted to be fitted on the face of the electric shaver and which has a long lamp bulb to extend a broad stretch of light across the face and wherein the attachment is formed of two parts adjustable relative to each other for the different size shavers and to provide, upon being extended, easy access to the bulb to remove the same.

Other objects of the present invention are to provide a light attachment for electric shavers which is of simple construction, easy to install upon the shaver, inexpensive to manufacture, expedites shaving, has a minimum number of parts, light in weight, compact and efiicient in operation.

For other objects and for a better understanding of the invention, reference may be had to the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an electric razor having the attachment of the present invention, with the razor raised upon the face to effect the shaving operation.

Fig. 2 is a side elevational view of the razor with portions of the razor broken away to show the wiring connection for the light attachment and with portions of the light attachment broken away and shown in section.

Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view taken on line 3-3 of Fig. 2.

Fig. 4 is a wiring diagram of the shaver motor and of the light bulb.

Referring now to the figures, l represents an electric shaver having a switch button H and a cord I2 with a plug 13 adapted to fit into the end of the shaver. A wall plug [4 is connected to the other end of the cord. The shaver casing is formed of two parts separable through the middle and on one of the parts is fixed a light hood l5 formed of insulating material and particularly material which might be flexed to facilitate and make easy the access to the interior of the hood for the removal or insertion of an elongated lamp bulb I6 which can be threadedly connected to a bracket l1 insulatingly secured to the bottom portion I8 01 the hood. This insulating connection is indicated at [9 and carries a flexible terminal 2| adapted to be engaged by the end of the lamp bulb terminal. The bracket I! is of metal and forms the other contact and includes a flexible strip portion 22 extendable across the hood. Within the hood I5 is a 2 transversely extending sheet metal piece 23 serving as a reflector for the light rays.

The attachment is made secure in the casing part by

24 and 25 extending therethrough in a tight fitting manner and through the bottom I8 in a tight fitting manner so that the attachment is made secure by the terminals themselves, the terminals thereby serving a double function. To these

,It will be seen that as the electric shaver is plugged into the wall that the light will automatically be turned on. Lighting is usually inadequate at shaving mirrors and by the use of it the shaver having this attachment thereon can have a more effective shaving operation on the face.

It !will be further apparent that the attachment can be made secure to the razor without requiring diificult operations and that the attachment can fit any flat razor and that the light will be directed over a broad area of the ace.

While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it shall be understood that such changes shall be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claim.

Having thus set forth and disclosed the nature of my invention, what is claimed is:

An electric light attachment for an electric shaver having a casing, comprising a hood open at the front and having a bottom portion, contact terminals mounted on the said shaver casing, leads in the said shaver casing permanently connected to the said contact terminals, the said bottom portion having openings receiving the said contact terminals, the latter being disposed spaced apart from each other along a line extending in longitudinal direction of the said hood and constituting the sole securing means for the said hood to the electric shaver, a conducting bracket for mounting the said light, a lamp bulb extending laterally from the said conducting bracket and within the said hood, insulating means supporting the said conducting bracket, a first light terminal extending from the said conducting bracket and a second light terminal extending through the said insulating means and supported thereon, the said conducting bracket constituting a single element for conducting the current to the said light and to simultaneously support the same, and the said contact terminals, contacting with the corresponding first and second light terminals when plugging in.
