My invention relates to improvements in infants cribs, an object thereof being to provide a simple, durable and relatively inexpensive knockdown crib, the parts of which are adapted to be readily and securely assembled and to. be readily disassembled and gathered together into small space for convenient transportation and storage.

A further object of the invention is to provide a crib, as above indicated, the same including an enclosure consisting of barrier panels detachably connected one to another, and including further a bottom member of flexible material adapted to conform with a surface upon which the crib rests, said bottom member cooperating with the btrrier panels releasablyto hold said parts of the structure together.

Other objects of the invention reside in the novel combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction illustrated and/or described.

Fig. 3 is a fragmentary bottom view showing a corner portion of the crib.

Figs. 4 and 5 are fragmentary perspective views of end portions of adjoining barrier panels showing the construction by virtue of which the panels may be connected to and disconnected from one another.

Referring to the drawing, it will be seen that the illustrated form of my invention includes four barrier panels, there being a pair of side panels I0 and a pair of end panels II which, when standing on edge and assembled, form a rectangular enclosure A. While said panels I0, I I may be of any suitable construction, I prefer that they be plain lengths of plywood or solid lumber. In any event, said panels will be detachably interconnected at the corners of the enclosure in such a manner that the end panels II will be moved edgewise toward and edgewise from the edgewise disposed side panels ID in connecting and disconnecting the former from the latter.

It may be here pointed out that either of the end panels I I may be used at either end of the crib and that either of the side panels I0 may be used at either side of the crib.

Associated with the panels I0, II is a bottom member B of flexible sheet material, preferably a waterproof fabric. Said bottom member B has a rectangular body portion III with marginal flaps If) at the sides thereof and similar flaps I6 at its ends. The panels II], I I rest on the body portion I4 of the bottom member B along lines adjacent said flaps I5, I6, the side flaps 15 being adapted to be upturned along the outer faces of the side panels II) at the lower marginal portions thereof, and the end flaps I Ii being adapted to be upturned along the outer faces of the end panels II at their lower marginal portions. These flaps I5, I 6 are fitted with female snapfastener members I! which mate with male snapfasteners members I8 mounted on the panels Ii), II. With said fiaps I5, I6 fastened to the panels II], II through the media of the snap-fastener members I1, I8, the bottom member B ties said panels I0, II together against relative edgewise and each endportion.of each end panel ll'hav I3 thereincut, ,transv erselythereof ,..one-half the distance the like, said body portion ll of said bottom member B will conform with the bedding, lending comfort to the occupant of the crib and serving to retain the crib in place on the bed. With the bottom member B constructed of Waterproof material, it will be capable of being readily cleansed and will prevent the passage of moisture to or from the crib at the bottom thereof.

To knock down and package the crib, the bottom member B will be unsnepped from at least one of the pairs of panels l0, H. Thereupon, the end panels II will be lifted edgewise from the side panels thereby disconnecting all of the panels and enabling them to be gathered together and, if desired, wrapped in a bundle with the bottom member B constituting the wrapper.

Changes in the specific form of the invention, as herein described, may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Having described the invention, what is claimed as new and desired to be protected by Letters Patent is:

1. In an infants crib two pairs of elongated panels, each panel at each of its end portions having a notch therein transversely thereof, the notches in one pair ofpanels being interfitted with thenotchesin the other pair of panels interconnecting said panels in the form of an enclosure, the inter-connected panels being adapted to be disconnected from each other upon relative edgewise movement between said pairs of panels, a bottom member of flexible material for the enclosure .formed by said panels, said bottom member underlying the lower edges of the panels and having marginal flaps upturned against the outer faces of said panels, connections attaching said flaps to said panels at said outer faces thereof thereby joining the bottom member to the panels, sa-idbottom member coacting with the panels and aloneholdingthem against relative 4 edgewise disconnecting movement, the connections connecting said flaps to said panels being detachable connections enabling the bottom member to be disjoined from the panels thereby to free the two pairs of panels for relative disconnecting movement therebetween.

2, In an infants knockdown crib, two pairs of panels, each panel having a connecting element at each end portion thereof, the connecting elements of one pair of panels 'coacting with the connecting elements of the other pair of panels connecting the panels together in the form of an enclosure, said connecting elements enabling said panels to be disconnected from each other upon relative edgewise movement between said pairs of panels, a bottom member of flexible material for the enclosure formed by said panels, said bottom member underlying the lower edges of the panels and having marginal flaps upturned against the outer faces of said panels, connections attaching said flaps to said panels at said outerfaces thereof thereby joiningthe bottom member thereto,

said bottom member coacting with the panels and alone holding them against relative edgewise disconnecting movement, the connections connecting the flaps to at least one pair of the panelsbe- 7 ing detachable connections enabling the bottom member to be disjoined therefrom thereby to free the two pairs of panels for relative disconnecting movement therebetween.
