Description
H P. WEILAND Dec. 8, 1953 SURGICAL TABLE Fild Jan. 25, 1955 'IIIIIIIIII INVEN HERBERT l? WEIL tend to secure the cover upon the pan.
The operation of the table is quite simple. By means of the set screws 2l it may easily be adjusted to any desired height. The pan I4 is removable as is the cover l5 which greatly simplifies cleaning and sterilization. The open mesh cover permits full support while the pan readily acts asa receptacle for waste liquid and blood.
The stand and pan may be used independently of the cover in certain instances, such as a receptacle for used Sponges, bandages, or other refuse of an operation. When the cover is placed over the pan, the wire mesh oiers rm support of a limb permitting free drainage throughand into the pan below, which is most desirable in some types of operation.
The adjustability of the stand greatly increases its usefulness. It is not only suitable for use with standard operating tables which are appreciably higher than ordinary beds but it may be lowered to the level of a cot or bench such as might be found in a physicians oice.
Inasmuch as the present invention embraces many embodiments and the embodiment above"4 set forth is capable of many changes, it is to be understood that all matter hereinabove set forth, or shown in the accompanying drawing, is tobe interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
I claim:
1. An auxiliary surgical table comprising, a stand having vertically adjustable telescoping supporting members, a horizontally positioned ring secured to said supporting members, a pan supported by said stand within said ring, and a wire mesh cover for said pan, said pan and cover providing a supplementary operative area and a cooperating receptable forrefuse. Y
2. An auxiliary surgical table comprising, a stand having vertically adjustable telescoping supporting members, means to lock said supporting members in a selective position, a ring secured in a horizontal plane to said supporting members, a removable pan supported by said stand within said ring, and a, wire mesh cover for said pan, said pan and cover providing a supplementary operative area and a, cooperating receptacle for refuse.
3. An auxiliary surgical table comprising, a stand having vertically adjustable telescoping supporting members, tabs secured to the upper ends of said supporting members projecting outwardly and at right angles from said members to raise and lower said members, means to lock said supporting members in a, selective position, a ring secured in a horizontal plane to said supportingV members, a removable pan supported by said stand Within said ring, and a Wire mesh cover for said pan, said pan and cover providing a supplementary operative area and a. cooperating receptacle for refuse.
4. An auxiliary surgical table comprising, a stand having vertically adjustable telescoping supporting members, ta'bs secured to the upper ends of said supporting members projecting outwardly and at right angles from said members to raise and lower said members, set screw to lock said telescoping supporting members in a selective position, a ring secured to the upper ends of said supporting members in a horizontal plane, a removable pan supported by said stand within said ring, and a removable Wire mesh cover having a dependent lip tting over said pan, said pan and said cover providing a supplementary operative area and a cooperating receptacle.
