two of the legs supporting a vertically adjustable bench to hold receptacles which are to be emptied in the bin and two other of the legs having a cross member extending therebetween, which cross member supports at least in part, a table on which various instrumentalities for use in packing are located, the entire table with its inpositions with respect to the bin, the primary purpose of such adjustment being so that the device may be used comfortably by left handed or right handed persons.
Ancillary objects and features of importance will become apparent in following the description of the illustrated form of the invention.

As disclosed in the accompanying drawings, the makeup of the device comprises a bin It, a table l2 and among other structural features a plurality of vertically adjustable legs I6, I8, 20 and 22, respectively.
For the specific construction of each leg, attention is invited to Figure 5 where there is disclosed a tube 24 in the bore of which a leg section 26 is slidable in telescopic fashion. A set screw 28 or a like fastening element, is threaded in a suitable opening provided in the tube 24 and is adapted to bear against the leg section 26 in order to hold it in a selected extended position with respect to the tube 24. The upper end of the tube 24 is threaded so as to fit in the internally threaded boss 36, this boss being welded or otherwise fastened to the frame 32 of the bin l0. A bench 54 is fastened to the legs 20 and l6 and the function of the bench is to support the receptacles which are used for the purpose of transporting fruit, vegetables or the like to the bin it before, during or after they are emptied into the bin. The bench comprises a pair of cantilever supports 56, each of which has a sleeve 58 at the inner end thereof, the sleeve being of such size as to be slidably disposed on the tube 24. A set screw 60 or the like is carried by the sleeve 58 and bears against the outer surface of the tube 24 thereby holding the sleeve and hence the cantilever support 58 in a selected vertical position. Cross members 62 and 64 are secured to the top surfaces of the supports 55 and provide the platform upon which the field boxes or the like may be disposed.
The table I2 includes a pair of legs 66, each leg being made of a tube 68 which is threaded in a boss 10 and which has a leg section 12 slid- 3 ably disposed therein and adapted to be extended and retracted with respect to the tube 68. A set screw I4 or the like is carried by the tube 68 and is adapted to bear against the leg section I2 in order to hold it in the selected, adjusted position. The boss 10 is rigidly fixed to the table top I6 whereby the legs are fastened to the table top and form a partial support for the table. The table I2 is supported adidtionally by one or more, preferably two, brackets I8 and 80 which have downwardly opening U-shaped clamps 82 at their outer ends and which are fixed at their inner end to the table top I6. The U-shaped clamps are arranged to straddle a cross member 84, this cross member having sleeves 06 and 88 at its ends which are vertically slidable on the legs I8 and 22 Inasmuch as set screws 90 are carried by the sleeves 86 and 88, the cross member 84 may be vertically adjusted to a selected vertical position thereby at least partially raising and lowering the table top 16 in accordance with the need of the user of the device.
There is a wrapping paper container 92 provided with a shank 94, this shank having a collar 96 thereon to bear against the top surface of the table top I6. A collar 98 is fixed to the bottom surface of the table 16 and is adapted to receive a part of the shank 94, the extent of movement of the shank 94 through the aperture in the table top 96, in alignment with the collar 98, being governed by the location of the collar 96 on the shank 94. By virtue of this construction, the wrapping paper support 92 is readily removable when it is desired to clear the table top I0 for various purposes, as to hold a rather large container, for example a bushel basket.
A container support assembly is carried by the table I2 and includes a T-shaped container adjuster I00 and a T-shaped container stay bar I02. The container adjuster has its shank threaded, as at I04 so that the vertical height of the cross member of the T-shaped container adjuster may be regulated in accordance with the needs of the person using the table. To accomplish the function of adjustment, a collar I08 which is internally threaded, is welded or otherwise fixed to the bottom surface of the table top I6 and is arranged in alignment with an opening in the table top. Accordingly, the adjuster I00 may be elevated in accordance with the needs of the person using the device and if desired, the adjuster I00 may be entirely removed. A collar II 0 for the threaded shank of the stay bar I02 is similarly connected with the table top 16.
By virtue of the type of means partially supporting the table l2 and connecting the table to the cross member 84, the table I2 may be shifted to selected, adjusted positions with respect to the bin I0 by simply moving it, permitting the down- 4 wardly opening U-shaped clamps 82 to slide on the cross member 84. This is particularly useful and a particularly useful adjustment when the table is employed by left handed and. right handed persons because the table is shifted to a more convenient position in this manner.
A shelf II2 to support a supply of containers, is connected to the vertical back wall 42 of the bin proper. This shelf has a pair of rings II4 connected at one edge thereof, these rings being passed through openings provided in the back wall 42 of the bin proper. This pivotally or hingedly connects the shelf I I2 to the bin and in order to hold the shelf 4 in the substantially horizontal position, a bracket I I6 is pivoted at one end to the bottom surface of the shelf H2 and is provided with a bifurcated opposite end II 0, the furcations of which are adapted to be fitted on the head of a rivet I I9 which is carried by the end. Wall 42. An additional rivet is provided ad jacent to the opposite corner of the bin and the rings II 4 are removable from the holes in the vertical wall 42 in order that they may be fitted in other holes at the upper edge of the vertical end wall 42. Hence, when the table I2 is shifted for a left handed persons use, the shelf II2 may be moved to another position on the bin in accordance with the left handed persons needs.
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
A packing stand including an elongated bin for containing articles to be packed and slanting downwardly endwise to lower one end thereof for gravity feed of the articles toward said end, legs supporting said bin and including a pair of corner legs at the lower end of the bin, a cross-bar slidably connected to said pair of legs for vertical adjustment thereon, a table at said lower end of the bin for supporting containers in which articles taken from the lower end of the bin are to be packed and wrapped, said table being narrower than said bin, and means slidably supporting said table at one end thereof on said cross-bar for adjustment laterally of said bin to opposite sides of the bin and for adjustment vertically by vertical adjustment of said bar, said means comprising depending clamps on said table slidable along said bar.
