This. invention relates to goggles and more particularly it has reference to ventilating means for goggles.
One of the objects of my invention is to provide an improved goggle embodying ventilating means. Another object is to provide a goggle having combined nose engaging and ventilating means. A further object is to provide a goggle having a structure which can be molded so as to embody yieldable nose engaging means which forms a part of the ventilating means. These and other objects and advantages reside in certain novel features of construction, arrangement and combination of parts as will hereinafter be more fully described and pointed out in the appended claims.

Fig. 1 is a front view of a goggle embodying my invention.
Fig. 2 is a bottom plan view thereof.
Fig. 3 is a fragmentary view of the inner side of the goggle, with parts broken away.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view taken on line 4-4 of Fig. 3.
A preferred embodiment of my invention is shown in the drawings wherein Ill indicates, generally, a goggle having a body wall II which is adapted to extend around the eyes of the wearer. The wall II has a re-entrant portion H which is adapted to fit over the nose. The front edge of the wall has an internal groove l3 for receiving the lenses I4 in the usual manner. The goggle is formed of molded yieldable material, such as rubber or the like, so that the front rims l5 may be flexed for the insertion or removal of the lenses. The rear edge of the body wall H has a yieldable face-engaging flange I6 which extends therearound excepting at the up per part of the re-entrant portion l2.
Extending rearwardly from the rims IE on both sides of the re-entrant portion [2 are the yieldable nose engaging parts I! which are in spaced relation to the wall ll so that a passageway is formed therebetween. The flange l6 overhangs the unattached rear edges of the parts H. The nose engaging parts I! may, therefore, flex readily to adjust themselves to the sides of the wearers nose while always providing an air passageway for the entry of air into the goggle.
With this construction, I am able to provide ventilating means which permits the entry of air into the goggle along the sides of the nose and at the lower part of the goggle. The invention also provides yieldable nose engaging parts which adapt themselves to the sides of the wearers nose to afiord a comfortable contact therewith. Additional ventilation may be provided by the metal baffle plate ventilators I8 which are inserted in openings formed in the side wall I I.
Various modifications can, obviously, be made without departing from the spirit of my invention as pointed out in the appended claims.
I claim:
1. In a goggle having a lens carrying body wall adapted to extend around the eyes of a wearer and provided with a re-entrant portion to fit over the nose and a face contacting part on the rear edge of the body wall, the combination of a pair of yieldable nose engaging parts adapted to contact the respective sides of the wearers nose, said parts projecting rearwardly from the front part of the body wall and in spaced relation to the outside surface of the wall to form a passage for the entry of air into the goggle.
2. "In a goggle having a body wall with. a front rim part around the lenses and adapted to extend around the eyes of a wearer and provided with a re-entrant portion to fit over the nose and a face contacting flange on the rear edge of the wall extending along the sides of the re-entrant portion, the combination of a pair of yieldable nose engaging parts adapted to contact the respective sides of the nose,'said parts extending along the sides of the re-entrant portion and projecting rearwardly from the front rim part and. in spaced relation to the outside surface of the wall with said flange overhanging the parts whereby a passageway is formed for the entry of air into the goggle.
