The present invention relates to accessories for barbers chairs and it consists in the combinations, constructions and arrangements of parts herein described and claimed.

Generally there is provided a barbers chair in which the back thereof is formed in a novel manner to provide a plurality of racks and containers wherein may be stored for ready access such devices as, for example, a hair brush, a whisk broom, a powder can, bottles containing toilet water, witch hazel and the like, shears, razors, combs, etc. The device is so formed that all of the articles mentioned may be readily moved from and returned to their positions in the rear of a conventional barbers chair.

It is accordingly an obiect of the invention to provide a device of the character set forth which is simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture and yet effective and efficient in use.

Another object of the invention is the provision of a device of the character set forth which will render it unnecessary for a barber to store his tools and accessories at a point remote from his working position, namely the immediately vicinity of the barbers chair.

Another object of the invention is the provision, in a device of the character set forth, of novel means for racking and storing the conventional tools and accessories utilized by a barber in the performance of his work.

Other and further objects of the invention will become apparent from a reading of the following specification taken in conjunction with the drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is a fragmentary rear elevational view of a barbers chair utilizing an embodiment of the invention,

Figure 2 is a fragmentary sectional View taken along line 2-2 of Figure 1,

Figure 3 is a fragmentary sectional view taken along line 3-3 of Figure 1,

Figure 4 is a sectional view taken substantially along line 4-4 of Figure 1, and

Figure 5 is an enlarged fragmentary rear elevational view similar to Figure 1 but showing a certain compartment door forming a part of the invention in opened condition.

Referring more particularly to the drawing, there is shown therein a conventional barbers chair having a base |0, upon which is mounted a seat I from each side of which extends an arm rest I2 and to the rear of which seat there is hingedly connected, as indicated at I3, a conventional back rest I4.

The rear of the back rest |4 is formed with a 2 Claims.V (Cl. 155-188) hollow box-like structure having a top I5, a bottom IS, aninner wall I1 and an outer wall I8.

The outer wall- I8 may be removably amxed to the remaining structure by means of a screw I9 which connects the upper end of the same with a dependent tab 20 and may be provided with an indented flange 2| along its lower edge which flange is adapted to engage therear of an upsstanding marginal portion 22 extending upwardly from the bottom I6. The outer wall I8 is provided with a pair of rounded indentations 23 for the reception therein Vof the rear halves of

24 and 25 which are adapted to contain witch hazel, toilet water or the like. Adjacent the upper ends of each of the indentations 23 there is provideda pair of clamp members 26 whi-ch are adapted vto releasably engage th-e necks of the

bottles

24 and 25.

Disposed in the outer wall I8 is a vertically extending rectangular indentation 21 adjacent the upper end of which there is mounted a hook 28 upon which may be suspended a neck brush 29 and in the lower end of the indentation 21 there is provided a pair of clamp members 30 wherein may be removably mounted a bottle 3| adapted to contain powder or the like.

A compartment 32 is provided in the outer wall I3 preferably above the indentations 23 and this compartment 32 is provided with a hinged door 33 having a glass window 34 therein and provided with a conventional operating knob and latch 35. The compartment 32 extends downwardly below the lower end of the door 33, as indicated at 31 so that a can 38 of sterilizing liquid may be mounted in the lower end thereof. A hair brush 39 is adapted to be removabli7 mounted in the compartment 32 by means of a pair of clamp members 40, as shown in Figure 5.

A compartment 4| of substantially rectangular shape is formed in the outer wall I8 preferably in the lower corner thereof remote from the indentations 23. This compartment 4| is provided with a door 42 having la handle 43 and a centrally disposed opening 44 and is hinged, as indicated at 45, along its lower horizontal edge. The compartment 4| is adapted to contain vertically therein a plurality of sanitary neck strips 46. lImmediately labove the compartment 4| there is provided a compartment 41 having a door 48 hinged at its lower horizontal edge, asindicated at 49, and which door 48 is provided with an operating handle 50 adjacent its upper end. The handle 50 is adapted to operate a latch 5|.

The upper end of the, compartment 4I forms a shelf 52 for the compartment 41 and a can 53 of liquid disinfectant is adapted to rest upon the shelf 52. The inner side of the door 48 is centrally provided with an inwardly extending shelf 54 which is perforated, as indicated at 55, in its lower portion and the compartment 41 is adapted to contain therein tools such as scissors, razors, and the like, the same being mounted in the perforations 55 in the shelf 54.
