Be it known that I, ADAM E. SOHA'IZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new.

and useful Improvements in Automatic Vent- Bun gs; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains, to make and use the same.

My invention relates toimprovements in automatic vent-bungs; and the object is to permit atmospheric air to pass into the interior of barrels, casks, 860., containing beer, ale, cider, and other fluids or liquors, and thereby give a vent to them and assist in the withdrawal of such fluids or liquors, and also to accomplish this in an automatic manner.

The invention consists in the construction and arrangement of parts, as will be more fully described hereinafter, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is- 1. The combination, with a hung having an inlet opening, of the removable disk 0, having one or more perforations through it and a protuberance, substantially as and for the purpose specified.

2. The combination, with the bung B, adapted to be attached to a bush, and having a raised central portion, 6, provided with openings d d, of the disk 0, having one or more perforations and a protuberance, substantially as specified.
