4 Claims.
1 This invention relates to a comb. The object of the invention is to provide a comb which will facilitate the cutting of hair, the
comb adapted to be used by barbers, beauticians,
and beauty shop operators.
Another object of the invention is to provide a comb which has a plurality of coarse and fine teeth, the comb being further provided with a concave center portion.
Another object of the invention is to provide a combwhich is extremely simple and inexpensive to manufacture.
These and other objects are attained by the novel construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and illustrated by the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof, and in which:
Figure 1 is a plan view of a comb embodying the invention.
Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional view taken through the comb.
Figure 3 is an edge view of the comb.
Figure 4 is an edge view showing the opposite edge from that shown in Figure 3.
Figure 5is a sectional view taken on the line 5-5 of Figure 1.
, the small end into a section 1 of fine teeth on V the other side of the comb. The length of the teeth in the fine section I gradually decreases in length, until they merge into the body I.
In the center thereof the comb is provided with concave groove 1 which makes it easy to cut the hair over the comb with clipper. The fine teeth around the end make it easy to pick up the hair around the ears and in the back of the head. while cutting the hair to a fine edge.
From the foregoing it is apparent that a comb has been provided which is extremely simple and inexpensive to manufacture. The comb of the present invention can be used by various people, such as barbers, beauticians and beauty shop operators. When the comb is being used by barbers, the cutting of hair with clippers will be facilitated so that a barber will be able to do more work in a given space of time. It is a well known fact that b'arbers can cut hair more quickly by using clippers, and it has been estimated that a barber can out a head of hair in fifty per cent less time by using clippers to do ninetyper cent of the work. The comb of the present invention will facilitate the cutting of hair with clippers.
The above description is to be considered as illustrative and not limitative of the invention of which modifications can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth-in the appended claims. The invention having been described, what is claimed is: I
1. In a comb for cutting hair with clippers, a body provided with a large rounded end tapering down to a small rounded end, one side of the comb body having a section of coarse teeth and a section of fine teeth, said section of fine teeth extending around the small end and to a section of fine teeth on the other side of the comb body. said last mentioned section of fine teeth gradually decreasing in length.
2. In a comb, a body having a wide rounded end and a narrow rounded end, said body having a centrally positioned concave groove, one side of the body having a section of coarse teeth and a section of fine teeth which extend around the narrow end to the other side of the body, said last mentioned section of fine teeth gradually decreasing in length.
3. In a comb, a body having a centrally positioned concave groove extending longitudinally thereof, one side of the body-having a section of coarse teeth and a section of fine teeth, said section of fine teeth extending around one end of the body to the other side of the body.
4. In a comb, a body having a groove therein, one side of the body having a section of coarse teeth and a section of fine teeth, said section of fine teeth extending around one end of the body to the other side of the body.
