This invention relates to disinfectant dispensers for toilet bowls of the type having automatic flushing valves and also for ush tanks of toilet bowls in which the dispensing instrumentalities are actuated by the rise and fall of water in the toilet bowl or in a flush tank associated therewith, and in particular this invention relates to a disinfectant container having a depending neck and with a control chamber extended from the lower end of the neck, and the control chamber may be provided with a tube extended downwardly into a toilet bowl with the end of the tube positioned below the normal level of water in the bowl.

The purpose of this invention is to provide a disinfectant dispenser for supplying disinfectant to toilet bowls in which disinfectant is only supplied to the bowl when the bowl is flushed.

Various devices have been provided for supplying disinfectant to toilet bowls, urinals, and the like but in the usual device of this type a disinfectant is supplied continuously and a comparatively large amount of disinfectant is used. With this thought in mind this invention contemplates a disinfectant dispenser particularh7 adapted for toilet bowls which operate only as water is iiushed through the bowl.

The object of this invention is, therefore, to provide means for constructing an automatic disinfectant dispenser that is operated by the rise and fall of water in a bowl, tank, or container and that dispenses disinfectant only with the rise and fall of the water.

Another object of the invention is to provide a disinfectant dispenser that may be incorporated in flush tanks of toilet bowls or connected directly in the bowls without changing the design or construction of the tank or bowl.

A further object of the invention is to provide a disinfectant container for toilet bowls which operates with rise and fall of water in the bowl or in a flush tank associated with the bowl which is of a simple and economical construction.

With these and other objects and advantages in view the invention embodies a container having a depending neck with a control chamber below the lower end of the neck and with a valve member positioned to coact with the reduced section of the neck.

Other features and advantages of the invention will appear from the following description taken in connection with the drawings wherein:

The gure is a view illustrating the disinfectant dispenser having the container mounted on the wall and connected by a tube to a toilet bowl in 1 which the lower part of the dispenser is broken away and shown in section and in which the toilet bowl is shown in section.

Referring now to the drawings wherein like reference characters denote corresponding parts the improved disinfectant dispenser of this invention includes a bottle container for the disinfectant and the container is mounted on a wall 56 by a casing 5l having a tab 58 on the upper end by which the container is mounted on a wall by a nail or screw.

The container has a neck 59 in which operates a throttle valve 6|. The neck 59 is threaded into a lower chamber 62 on the upper end of a small tube 63 which extends to a toilet bowl 64 and into the water thereof. When the bowl is ushed the water level drops below the end of the tube and air will rise in the tube 63 permitting a small amount of air to pass upward into the bottle 55 which relieves the vacuum so that a small amount of the disinfectant trickles downward into the bowl. When the lower end of the tube is cio-sed by the water, air will be prevented from passing upward to the chamber 62 and to the container 55 and accordingly, the disinfectant will be retained therein. A cap 66 closes the upper end of the container in an air tight manner and at the same time provides for the filling of the container.

As the water leaves the toilet bowl 64, a charge of disinfectant will therefore, leave the container, the water dropping from the end of the pipe 63 whereby the disinfectant trickles into the bowl.

It will be understood that other modifications may be made in the design and arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit of the invention.

What is claimed is:

In a disinfectant device for toilets, a hollow casing, a tab extending from said casing and adapted to be attached to a supporting structure,V

an elongated neck arranged in the lower portion of said casing, a throttle valve mounted for movement into and out of closing relation with respect to said neck, a chamber arranged in threaded engagement with said neck, said neck extending approximately half way down into said chamber member to form an air lock with the liquid retained in the chamber member whereby the amount of disinfectant available for discharge is regulated, a tube having its upper end arranged in engagement with said chamber member and its lower end adapted to extend into a toilet bowl below the normal level of the liquid, a threaded nipple mounted on the upper end of said casing,

and a cap arranged in threaded air-tight engagement with said nipple.
