Suitable clips l9 secure the water standing drain pipe 42 having its lower end exfeed pipe M t t tt n s tending out of the bottom wall 6 of said tank, as
section 44 working in said slot provide for ad-.
justing the pipe section 44' into a set, raised position in which its lower end clears the slot. 45
and thereby opens the drain pipe 42. The slot v 45 is so arranged that a pipe section 44' may be lowered in the drain pipe 42" to close the slot 46 and thereby close said drain pipe, and said pipe section is so constructed that when it is thus its pp r end is at the same level as the top edge of the basket 26. Thus. it will be seen that the pipe section 44', when lowered, functions as an overflow pipe to maintain water introduced into the tank I atthe level of the top edge of the basket 26.
A suitably arranged crank 5| is provided for operating thegear pinion 2'9 journaled on the front side wall 4. v
Referring now to the use and operation of the described invention, the body 20 of the described sprayer is designed to be filled with soap flakes abov the partition 24 and the basket 26 to be filled with dishes or the like, not shown, In filluntil the level of the water in the tank l rises 40 to the overflow limit, at which point the spray acts toagitate the water and thereby facilitate the cleaning of the dishes. By means of, the crank 5|, the basket 26 may be revolved to .fur-
ther facilitate the washing operation. Glasses and the like may be cleaned by means of the brushes M which, as will be understood, are revolved bythe gear 32. The arms 39 of the brush unit may be pressed together manually to facilitate entering the brushes 4| in a glass, cup.
4 bowl, or pitcher. The described sprayer may be readily removed from the section 16 for cleanceptible of modification without departing from the inventive concept, and right is herein reserved to such modifications as fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described the invention, what is I claimed as new is:
In a 'dishwashing apparatus, a tank, a rotatably mounted brush unit in said tank including a horizontal journaled shaft, a crank on one side of the tank rotatable about a horizontal axis, and means operative by said crank to rotate said shaft at a relatively difi'erent speed comprising a circularly arranged series of gears in said tank rotatable about horizontal axes, a ring gear surmounting and meshing with the series of gears and supported solely thereby, one gear of the series being fast on said crank, and another gear of the series being fast on said shaft and of different diameter than the other gears of the series.
