Fig. 3, the major steps 23, 23 are to the left of the minor steps 2I, 2|. If the same blade is turned over, so that the reverse side now becomes the obverse side, the major steps 23, 23 are now to 'the right of the minor steps 2I, I, as in the lower blade same Fig. 3.
The blades are arranged alternately in the stack formation, with the major steps 23, 23 alternately at the left and alternately at the right. The distance between opposed minor steps 2I, 2| of the blade is substantially equal to the transverse width of central opening I5 of top plate l2 of the container, so that the slider legs 24, 24 slide in contact with said minor steps 2|, 2 I. It will be apparent that when the legs 24, 24 are opposite the minor steps 2|, 2| of the lowermost blade 28, Fig. 5, the stack of blades (including the lowermost one 28) will be held securely in the container, by reason of the aforesaid feet 25, 25 of the slider legs. The length of these feet "25, 25 (Fig. 5) 'is somewhat less than the difference or step between the minor and major steps 2|, 23 (Fig. 3). Hence when the slider 26 is moved so that legs 24, 24 are now opposite the major steps 23, 23 of the lowermost blade 28 (but at the same time opposite the minor steps of the blade next above it), the lowermost blade will drop out, but the remainder of the stack will be held secur'ely (by reason of feet 25, 25 supporting the minor steps of the aforesaid next above blade" which is now the lowermost). The stack ;of blades cannot shift longitudinally nor later ally since the length of the stack of blades is slightly less than the distance between the inside of end walls I 2a.
The longitudinal dimension of central blade opening 22 'is substantially that of the aforesaid central opening I5 of the container I2. Said -'central opening I5 serves a further function in providing limit stops defining the left-and-right -movement of the slider.
" [One of the functions of the aforesaid pair of end openings I4, I 4 in container plate I2 is to provide guideways for the slider 26. For this purpose, all four corners of the slider plate 29 are recessed, as indicated at 21 in Figs. 1 and 2 (also Fig, 6). It will be noted that the transverse width of arched slider plate 29- is slightly greater than that of the end openings I4, I4; but that the central portion provided in the end edges of a plate 29, by the said corner recesses 21, fits snugly within said end openings, I4, I4 of the container.
The slider 26 is fabricated from 'springy material, such as spring brass or the like. One of the "reasons for imparting the aforementioned arched formation to slider 26 is to utilize the springiness of the metalfrom which fabricated for retaining the slider and the stack of blades securely within the housing (as shown'in Fig. 5). Another rea-- son for imparting the arched formation to the slideris to provide sufficient raised surface or protuberance to permit the slider to be readily movedby the fingers.
Except for the already described central opening 22, the blade 20, Fig. 3 is conventional and has the usual cut-outs, including the central longitudinal slot I9, Fig. 3, in which is received the "central raised ridge (designated 9 in Fig. l) of 'the' conventional safety razor.
I shown in Fig. 1 is of the type which, by a 'twist of a portion of its handle, two side plates The safety razor (2, 2) swing open to expose the blade platform 3 and the aforesaid central ridge (9) uprising therefrom.
The'improved blade dispenser is positioned, in
three square openings I4, I5 and Id of the containing plate I2.
Additionally, the end edges B, B, of the slider are provided with central disposed slots 39, 39,
d which are sufliciently wide to receive the longitudinal razor ridge 9, so that, at least, the end portions ofrazor ridge 9 will clear therein.
The top plate I2 of container II may have a pair of upstanding arched flanges I1, I! extending longitudinally one on each side of slider 26 to, improve the appearance by concealing the open spaces underlying the arched slider 26. Flanges I1, I! aid in protecting the slider 25 against accidental displacement or movement.

For use in feeding to a safety razor having a central longitudinal ridge, single blades of the type having a central longitudinal slot for receiving said razor ridge and provided with a central opening, a blade dispenser, in combination, an open container, said container having a plate, opposed ends and sides, the distance between said sides being greater than the width of said blades, the distance between said ends being slightly greater than the length of said blades, the plate of the container having a central opening and a pair of end openings and a pair of reduced slots connecting said central and end openings, the width of said slots being sufificient to receive the said razor ridge; and a slider in overlying relation to said container plate, said slider having a pair of depending legs clearing through said central container opening and said central blade openings, said pair of legs having outwardlyturned feet in underlying abutment with the lowermost blade, said central container opening providing stops cooperative with said slider legs to limit slider movement, said slider being fabri cated of springy material and arched to impose a spring condition between abutment of said slider feet and the lowermost blade and abutment of the ends of the arched slider and the said container plate, the said arched slider presenting a symmetrically elevated surface for 8 facile manipulation, the width of said arched slider being wider than the width of said end container openings, the corners of the arched plate edges being recessed to provide central portions of said slider edges snugly fitted in said end container plates, for slider guidance.
12. For use in feeding to a safety razor, single blades provided with at least-one opening, a blade dispenser, in combination, an open container, said container having a plate, opposed ends and sides, the distance between said sides bein greater than the width of said blades, the distance between said ends being slightly greater than the length of said blades, the plate of the container having at least one opening substantially corresponding to said blade opening, and a slider in overlying relation to said container plate, said slider having a pair of depending legs clearing through said container opening and said blade opening, said pair of legs having outwardly turned feet in underlying abutment with the lowermost blade, said slider being fabricated of springy material and arched to impose a spring condition between abutment of said slider feet with the lowermost blade and abutment of the ends of the arched slider with the said container plate.
