According to this invention, a commodious receptacle is provided sufficiently large to serve not only as a letter box, but also as a containing and protecting receptacle for large and small magazines and newspapers which are delivered to the home or residence. This improved box is designed and constructed as to exclude the entry of rain and moisture into the box and is provided with a cover which will close of its own weight when released. The box is further provided with windows in its front panel throughwhich the contents may be viewed; and a convenient holder for holding and protecting the tenant's name and address card conveniently visible through the box window. The box is further equipped with an information panel upon whiclrnotices and infor mation directed to visitors and delivery men be conveniently posted.
An important feature of this invention is to provide an all purpose news box which is strong and sturdy in construction, lasting in use, attractive in appearance, and provided with vaecoutrements for the use and convenience of the resi dent.
A further object of this inventionis to provide an improved news box so designed and con.- structed as to contain and protect magazines .and newspapers aswell as letters delivered to theresi: dence.
Another object of this invention is-to propide an improved news box having a self-closing cover provided with a hinged construction which is strong and sturdy, smooth in operatipn, lastin in use and free of crevices or oth r op ning through which rain or moisture might enter into the box interior.
A further important feature of this inventipn is the provision of an improved news bo which may be formedof sheet material such sheet metal, from relatively few parts and by relatively. few assembly operations at low cost. 7

There is shown in Figs. 1 to 4 inclusive, the preferred form of news box which is adapted and designed to permit high speed production thereof at a minimum of cost, and at the same time provide a news box which is sturdy and lasting in construction, and designed to exclude the entry of rain or moisture'so that the news material contained thereinwill be kept dry. The box is preferably formed of sheet metal of a nonrusting character such as aluminum, stainless steel, copper, or plastic sheet. It will be appreciated however that the box may be formed of material such as plastic or treated fiber sheet protected from rust or deterioration by a suitable weather resisting coating.
. The box part essentially comprises a front wall panel I and side wall panels 2 which may be stamped and formed from a single blank A of sheet material as shown in Fig. 5. The rear wall 3 and the bottom wall 4 of the box part is formed from a single blank B of sheet material stamped and formed as indicated in Fig. 6. The upper end of the box part is enclosed by a cover panel 5 stamped and formed from a single blank C of sheet metal as shown in Fig. 7. The box part is constructed of sufiicient height, Width and depth to contain and house a large sized magazine M or folded Sunday newspaper N. For example, the height a of the box should preferably be from sixteen to twenty inches, the width b from ten to twelve inches, and the depth 0 at the lower end of the box from two to three inches, and the depth d at the upper end of the box from three to five inches. This commodious receptacle is capable of containing a folded Sunday newspaper N, large or small magazines M as well as letters and envelopes L. I
The rear wall 3 of the box part is designed to extend parallel to the building wall W from which the box is suspended by suitable lag or wood screws I00. Parallel extending rib formations 6 extending vertically along the side edges of the rear wall panel 3, are designed to rest against the building wall so as to maintain the rear wall panel spaced therefrom and permit the circulation of air between the building wall and the rear wall panel 3. Rib formations 6 are also provided at the lower ends of the side wall panels 2 and the front wall panel I to thereby strengthen the construction and in addition provide a means for supporting the bottom wall panel 4 spaced and contained within the enclosing front and side wall panels of the box part. The front wall panel I may be formed to incline forwardly at the upper end thereof as shown in Fig. 2. The front wall panel is provided with a lower transparent window I and an upper transparent window 8 to permit the box contents to be readily visible from the box exterior.
The front wall panel I is also provided with a card holder immediately to the rear. of the upper transparent window 8 adapted toreceive and retain a name and address card I0 visible through the window 8. The transparent windows 'I and 8 are attractively framed by horizontally extending rims II and I2 and vertically extending rims I3. The space I4 between the adjacent horizontally extending rims I2 provides an area within which the building tenant may post any desired notices or instructions to visitors or delivery men. A card or piece of paper containing such information may be retained in the space I4 by a pair of cooperating ears I5 struck out from the rim formations I2, as shown more particularly in Figs. 1 and 2.
The cover part formed from the blank of sheet material C shown in Fig. '7, comprises a top closure panel 5 having a front flange 52 and side flanges 5i integrally formed with the top wall panel 5 and shaped to snugly telescope over the upper end of the front wall panel I and the side wall panels 2 of the box part. The rear edge of the top wall panel 5 is provided with a rolled formation 50 which cooperates with and contains a rolled formation 38 formed at the upper end of the rear wall panel 3 to provide a hinge construction which can be economically formed by mass production methods at low cost, and which is constructed to permit ready application and attachment of the cover part, as hereinafter more fully explained.
An important feature of this invention relates to the detailed construction of the box part and the cover part which permits high speed assembly of the completed box at low cost with a minimum number of operations. The outer contour of the blank A is cut out in a blanking press to the shape generally illustrated in Fig. 5 to provide a straight upper edge I for the front wall panel, and an inclined edge portion 2' and a straight edge portion 2 at the upper end of each of the side wall panels 2, thereby giving the upper end of the box part the desired shape and contour. The blank A is cut to size so as to provide material for the flange formations 23 along the vertical edges of the side wall panels 2, flange formations 23 at the lower ends of the side wall panels 2, and a flange formation 23 at the lower end of the front wall panel I. The blanking press which shapes the blank A also cuts out the lower corners 24 and provides the slit cuts 25.
The central area of the front wall panel I may be cut and stamped complete on a forming press in a single operation. The forming dies of the press operate to draw the rim portions I I, I2 and I3 to approximately the contour shown in Figs. 2 and 5. The press also has cutting dies associated therewith which cut out a rectangular section of the metal to form the lower window opening II, which opening is rimmed by an inturned metal ledge I8 which provides a seat for the transparent window 1. Additional cutting dies are associated with the press which cut out the two spaced openings I9 at each end of the card holder and forms the ledges 29 which provide a seat for the transparent window 8. It will be noted by referring to Figs. 2 and 5 that the center section of the meta1 extending from the ledges 20 adjacent the rim portions I I and I2, is not cut away but is stamped inwardly to provide a card holder defined by a back portion 2I connected by edge portions 22 integrally joined to the adjacent ledge portions 20. The name and address card I0 can then be inserted endwise into the holder between the back portion 2| and the wintral panel I4 to provide retaining clips designed 5, to retain the instruction or information cardin position to overlie the central panel |4. Thus by equipping the press with the required forming, shaping and cutting dies, the window openings l1 and Hi, the rim ledges l8 and 20, the card holder and the tongues l5 may all be shaped, cut and formed in a single press operation at low cost.
Spaced pimples 28 may also be pressed into the flange formations 23 to provide securingv means for the economical assembly of the box as will be particularly explained hereinafter.
The blank A, cut and stamped as indicated in Fig. 5, is placed in a forming press and the flange formations 23 are bent along the bend lines 27 a distance greater than90 and to the shape indicated in Fig. 12. The side wall panels 2 arealso bent along the bend lines '28 to extend substantially at right angles to front wall panel I to provide a formed unit having a. cross-sectional shape substantially as shown in Fig. 4.
The blank B shown in Fig. 6 is cut out in a blanking press from a flat sheet to provide the rear wall panel 3 and the bottom wall panel 4. The upper end of the rear panel 3 is provided with an extension 3|) which is later shaped and formed into a rolled hinge formation. The side edges of the rear panel 3 are provided with flange forming extensions 3|, later to be folded along bend lines 32 at approximately a 90 angle to the rear panel 3. The side edges of the bottom forming panel 4 are also provided With flange forming extensions 3|, bendable along the bend lines 32, and separated from the flange extensions 3| associated with the rear wall panel 3 by transverse cuts 33. The bottom panel 4 is also provided'with a flange formation 3| which is to extend along the front wall panel of the box and which is bendable along bend line 32 to extend substantially at a right angle to the bottom panel 4. The blanking press also cuts out the corners 34 at the lower end of the blank, and cuts out the corners 35 at the upper end of the blank.
Spaced holes 36 may be punched out of the flange formations 3 I, and a pair of spaced sockets 37 having a central hole 38 therein are also formed in the rear wall panel 3 for the reception of securing elements Hill for hanging the box to the building wall. Drain holes 39 may also be punched in the bottom wall panel t to provide ventilation at the bottom of the box and permit I drainage of water from the box in the event rain or moisture is permitted to enter the box. The blank B can thus be shaped, cut and punched in a blanking press and a punching press in a highly economical manner.
The cut and punched blank B is then shaped on a forming press Which operates to bend the hinge forming portion 30 thereof .into the form of a curvilinear bend as shown in Fig. 8. The flange formations 3| are bent at right angles to the front wall panel 3 and the bottom wall panel 4. The bottom wall panel 4 -is then bent along the bend line 49 to extend substantially at right angles to rear wall panel 3 in the form shown in Fig. 2. In a further forming operation, the curvilinear hinge formation shown in Fig, 8 is reduced to the completed tubular shape shown in Fig. 9. As completed, the tubular hinge formation 38 is bent approximately 270 to provide a semi-circular portion 30' approximately 180" in extent, and an inturned'lip portion 30 presenting an open gap 30" between the end of the lip portion 30" and the rear wall panel 3'.

The unit B is tele 6.. scoped into the unit A through the upper end thereof in a manner so that the flange formas tions 3| extending fromftherea'r wall panel of unit B will slide within-the adjacent rebent flange formations 23 associated with side wall panels 2 of unit A, and finally the flange formations 3| associated with the bottom wall panel 4 are driven into the pockets formed by the rebent flange formations 2-3 provided at the lower ends of the front wall panel I and the side wall panels 2. When the flanges 3| of unit 13 have been fully pushed into the pockets formed by the rebent flange formations 23 0f unit A as shown in Fig. 12, the rebent flange formations 23 are pressed firmly against the pocketed flanges Si in the manner shown in Fig. 13. The depressed pimples 26 in the rebent flange formations 23 will then extend into the respective receiving holes 36 in the pocketed flanges 3|. It will be appreciated that the formed pimples 2i; and the receiving holes 36 are so shaped, spaced and arranged that when the units'Aand E are assembled in box forming position, the pimpl s 23 will properly and uniformly align with the corresponding receiving holes 36 provided therefor. W hen the rebent flange formations 23 have been pressed firmly against the pocketed flanges 3.5, the pimples 26 will extend into the receiving holes 36 to thereby firmly and rigidly lock the parts together. By the employment of this method of assembly, all riveting and Welding operations may be avoided and a substantial saving in a production cost may be thereby achieved.
The cover part, formed from the single blank of sheet metal C as shown in Fig. 7, provides a top wall forming panel 5 of sufficient-area to fully cover the open end of the box part, a hinge forming extension 59 extending from the top wall panel 5, side flange extensions 5| and a front flange extension 52. The coverforming blank C is shaped on a blanking press with the corners 53 notched out as indicated in Fig. 7. After the cover blank C has been blanked out as shown in Fig. 7, it is placed in a drawing press where the side flanges 5| are bent along bend .lines 54 to extend substantially at right angles to the top panel 5, and the front flange 52 is bent along the bend line 55 to extend at the appropriate angle to the top panel 5. Since the sheet material has a certain ductility and formability, it can be cold drawn to shape the front corners as shown in Fig. 10 without the necessity of corner notching, thereby avoiding any welding or soldering operation to secure the ends of the front flange 52 to the adjacent ends of the side flanges 5|.
The hinge extension 50 of the cover part is shaped into a hinge formation by rolling the extension in the smooth roll to approximately a 270 angle. As the first step, the hinge forming extension 50 is rolled into a rounded angle substantially as indicated in Fig. 8, and in the second forming operation the rolling is continued to a complete 2'70"v angle, providing a semi-circular half section 50, and an inturned lip portion 50" presenting a gap 50" between the edge of the lip portion 50" and the inside of the face of the semi-circular section 50, as shown in Fig. 3. The semi-circular section 50 is so shaped as to snugly encase the semi-circular section 30' of the hinge formation 30 associated with the box part. The lip portion 50" is so shaped as to extend into the interior of the semi-circular formation 30 of the companionrolled hinge part,
the lip .portion'5f0" entering, the semi-circular,
formation 30' through the gap 30". Thus it will be appreciated that the hinge formation 50 associated with the cover part is designed to embrace and ride over the outer circumference of the semi-circular section 30' of the hinge formation 30 associated with the rear wall of the box part, providing a substantially frictionless hinge. The hinge formation 50 of the cover part is nevertheless locked to the hinge formation 38 of the box part by the lip portion 50" which extends through the gap 30" into the interior of the semi-circular section 30' of hinge formation 30. The hinge formations 30 and 50 are fully formed and shaped before the cover part is applied to the box part.
The hinge formations 30 and 59 and related parts of the structure are so formed as to permit quick attachment of the cover part to the box part. As shown more particularly in Figs. 10 and 11, the free end portion of one of the side flanges 5| of the cover part is first bent to the approximate shape shown in Fig. 10. It will be noted that the hinge formation 30 extends above the upper horizontal portion 2" of the side wall panels 2 of the box part. Accordingly, when the end portion 5| of one of the side cover flanges 51 is sprung out by means of a suitable tool as shown in Fig. 10, the adjacent end of the tubular hinge formation 50 of the cover part may be telescoped over the right hand end of the tubular formation 30 of the box part as shown in Fig. 10, and the cover part is then moved laterally to the left as shown in Fig. until the entire length of the tubular formation 39 is housed within the tubular hinge formation 55. When the cover part has been applied in this manner the warped end portion 5! of the side flange is pressed down into alignment with the remaining undeformed part of the flange 5|, so that the reshapedend portion 5| of the flange will overlie the adjacent upper edge 2 of the adjacent side panel 2 and also cover the adjacent end of the rolled hinge formations 36 and 56. When the end portion 5| of the cover flange has thus been returned to its proper position, the cover part cannot be removed from the box part.
It will be further noted that the hinge formation 30 rearwardly overhangs the rear wall panel 3 as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, so that when the cover is in closed position, rain beating against the exterior of the cover cannot enter the interior of the box part. Itwill be further noted that the maximum opening of the cover part is substantially as illustrated in Fig. 3, so that the cover part will automatically close under its own weight when released, thus avoiding the possibility that the box cover may be inadvertently left open. This improved hinge is strong and sturdy in construction, smooth in operation, lasting in use, can be formed and assembled at low cost, and provides a tight closure which has no crevices or other openings through which rain or moisture can enter the interior of the box part when the cover part is in closed position.
There is shown in Fig. 14 a somewhat modified hinge arrangement wherein a pair of strap hinges 60 is employed to secure the cover part to the box part. Each strap hinge 66 has one leaf section 6! thereof secured to the upper end of the rear wall'panel- 3, and the other leaf section 62 secured to, the inside face of the top wall panel 5 of the'cover part. The, top wall panel 5 of the coveri'part has a semi-circular overhanging extension 63 which'covers and pro 8 tects the hinge joint 64 and prevents the entry of water into the upper end of the box part. The edge 65 of the semi-circular extension 63 of the cover part is so shaped as to abut the hinge leaf sections Bl attached to the rear wall 3 of the box part when the cover part is swung open, thereby limiting the opening movement of the cover part and insuring closing return of the cover part when released.
The transparent windows I and 8 may be formed of glass, transparent plastic or other similar material. The window I is secured to the inturned rim ledge 18 by a suitable bonding adhesive. The transparent window 8 is likewise secured to the rim ledge 20 by a suitable bonding adhesive. Thus no rain or water may enter the window openings I! and [9. It will be noted that the window I is spaced sufficiently close to the bottom panel 4 so that an ordinary letter L resting on the box bottom is readily visible through this window 7. Magazines M and newspapers N will be readily visible through the window 1 and also through the end areas of the Window 8. It will be noted that the card holder extends over the interior face of the window 8 for only a portion of its area. The name and address of the tenant imprinted on the card Ill and contained in the card holder is readily visible through the window 8, but is fully protected from the elements. Any notices, instructions or information which the tenant may desire to supply to those approaching the residence are written on a suitable card or piece of paper and retained on the centrally located notice panel M by means of the struk out ears l5.
This improved news box may be attached to the building wall W by a pair of hanger screws which is supplied with the box. The head portion I0! of the screw is pocketed in the screw receiving depression 3? as shown in Fig. 2. A gasket I02 formed of rubber or suitable fibrous material is shaped to pocket within the depression 31 to provide a snug seal for the screw head lill, so that the moisture cannot enter into the interior of the box through the central hole 38 through which the shank of the screw 106 extends. Where the box is to be hung on a wood wall, the screws I09 may be ordinary wood screws which can be conveniently screwed into the wood wall in a convenient location when the cover is held open. When the box is to be hung on a brick or a stucco wall, spaced holes are drilled into-the stucco or the adjacent brick mortar joint,- a wooden plug driven into each hole, and the screws Iilii then inserted into the wooden plugs. Other convenient means may be provided to mount box on the building wall as desired. It will be noted that the rim formations 6 extending along the vertical side edges of the rear wall are'designed to abut the building wall and thus insure even hanging of the box and at the same time provide an air space for the circulation of air between the building wall and the rear wall panel 3.
1 This improved news box is of great convenience and utility to the home owner. It not only serves as a convenient mail box, but also provides a container of sufficient size to conveniently contain the daily or Sunday newspapers and magazines which may be delivered to the home. Thus the premises may be kept neat and tidy, and a place of deposit provided for newspapers and magazines, heretofore ordinarily thrown on the porch or in locations where they are subjected to-the'elements or otherwise damaged or lost. The box" has a convenient interior elements but readily visible through the box window 8. Not only magazines and newspapers deposited in the box, but letters and other mail are also readily visible through one or both of the conveniently located windows in the front panel. This improved news box is so designed as to provide maximum protection to the contents and prevent the entry of moisture, rain or snow into the box interior. The box cover is self-closing, avoiding inadvertent exposure of the contents. An all purpose news box is provided which is strong and lasting in construction, attractive in appearance, and can be produced at low cost.
While certain novel features of the invention have been disclosed herein, and are pointed out in the annexed claims, it will be understood that various omissions, substitutions andchanges may be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit of the invention.
What is claimed is:
1. An improved news box formed of sheet material having a box part and a cover part hinged to the box part, said box part having enclosing front, rear, bottom and side wall panels, said rear wall panel having a substantially flat rear wall section inset between said side wall panels providing a pair of rearward extending rib formations adapted to rest against the building wall and maintain said rear wall section spaced from the building wall, said cover part having a top wall section shaped to enclose the up er end of the box part, said rear wall panel having an arcuate formation extending between said rib formations and rearwardly overhanging the plane of said rear wall section, said top wall section of the, cover part having an arcuate extension embracing the arcuate formation. of said rear wall panel to exclude the entry of Water into the box interior.
2. An improved news box formed of sheet material having a box part and a cover part hinged to the box part, said box part having enclosing front, rear, bottom and side wall panels, said rear wall panel having a substantially flat rear wall section inset between said side wall panels providing a pair of rearwardly extending rib formations adapted to rest against the building wall and maintain said rear wall section spaced from the building wall, said cover part having a top wall section shaped to close the upper end of the box part, a front flan e and a pair of side flanges extending downwardly from said top wall section adapted to telescopeover the upper end of the adjacent front wall panel and the side wall panels of the box part, said rear wall, panel having a curvilinear formation extending between said rib formations and rearwardly'overhanging the plane of the rear wall section, said top wall section of the cover part having a curvilinear extension embracing the curvilinear formation of said rear wall panel to exclude the entry of water into the box interior.
'3. An improved news box having a box part presenting enclosing front, rear, bottom and side wall panels formed from two pieces of sheet metal, one of said sheets forming the rear wall panel and the bottom wall panel of the box part, the other of said sheets forming the front wall panel and the side wall panels of the box part, said rear wall panel and bottom wall panel being inset between said side wall panels whereby said side wall panels present rearwardly extending rib formations and downwardly extending rib formations at the sides of the box part, means for securing said rear wall panel and bottom wall panel to said side wall panels to provide a sturdy box structure, said front wall panel being of less height than said rear wall panel, the upper ends of said side wall panels being inclined forwardly toward said front wall panel, a hinging top wall panel having side flanges and a front flange adapted to telescope over the adjacent side wall panels and front wall panel of the box part, said rear wall panel having an arcuate formation extending between said rib formations and rearwardly overhanging the plane of said rear wall panel, said top wall panel havingv an arcuate extension embracing the arcuate formation of said rear wall .panel to exclude the entry of water into the box interior.

An improved news box having a box part presenting enclosing front, rear, bottom and side wall panels, said rear wall panel having rearwardly extending flanges along the side edges thereof, each of said side wall panels having a rebent flange formation at the rear edge thereof from the building wall, means for securing said rear wall panel and bottom wall panel to said side wall panels, means for securing said bottom wall panel to said side wall panels and to said front wall panel, said front wall panel being of less height than said rear wall panel with the upper ,ends of said side wall panels inclined forwardly toward said front wall panel, a hinging top wall panel having side flanges and a front flange adapted to telescope over the adjacent side wall panels and front wall panel ofthe box part, said rear wall panel having an arcuate formation extending between said rearwardly extending rib formations and rearwardly overhanging the plane of said rear wall panel, said top wall panel having an arcuate extension'embracing the arcuate formation of said rear wall panel to exclude the entry of water into the box interior.

An improved news .box having a box part presenting enclosing front, rear, bottom and side wall panels, said rear wall panel having rearwardly extending flanges along the side edges thereof, said bottom wall panel having downwardly extending flanges along the, front edge and side edges thereof, each of said side wall panels having a .rebent flange formation at the rear edge thereof adapted to receive the adjacent rearwardly extending flange associated with said rear wall panel providing a pair of rearwardly extending rib formations adapted to rest against the building wall and maintain said rear wall panel spaced from the building wall, a rebent flange. formation at the lower end of each side wall panel adapted to receive the adjacent downwardly extending flange associated with said bottom wall panel, said front wall panel having a rebent flange formation at the lower end thereof adapted to receive the downwardly extending front flange associated with said bottom wall panel, said front wall panel being of less height than said rear wall panel with the upper ends of each side wall panel inclined forwardly toward said front wall panel, a hinging top wall panel having side flanges and a front flange adapted to telescope over the adjacent side wall panels 11 and front wall panel of the box part, said rear wall panel having an arcuate formation extending between and within the area defined by said rearwardly extending rib formations and rearwardly overhanging the plane of said rear wall panel, said top wall panel having an arcuate extension embracing the arcuate formation of said rear wall panel to exclude the entry of water into the box interior.

An improved news box having a box part wardly extending flanges along the front edge and side edges thereof, each of said side wall panels having a rebent flange formation at the rear edge thereof adapted to receive the adjacent rearwardly extending flange associated with said rear wall panel providing a pair of rearwardly extending rib formations adapted to rest against the building wall and maintain said rear wall panel spaced from the building wall, a rebent flange formation at the lower edge of each side wall panel adapted to receive the adjacent downwardly extending flange associated with said bottom wall panel, said front wall panel having a rebent flange formation at the lower edge thereof adapted to receive the downwardly extending frcnt flange associated with said bottom wall panel, said front wall panel inclining forwardly from the lower end to the upper end thereof when said box part is in its normal hung position, said front wall panel being of less height than said rear wall panel with the upper ends of each side wall panel inclined forwardly toward said front wall panel, a hinging top wall panel having side flanges and a front flange adapted to telescope over the adjacent side wall panels and front wall panel of the box part, said rear wall panel having an arcuate formation extending between and within the area defined by said rearwardly extending rib formations and rearwardly overhanging the plane of said rear wall panel, said top wall panel having an arcuate extension embracing the arcuate formation of said rear wall panel to exclude the entry of water into the box interior.
7. An improved news box having a box part presenting enclosing front, rear, bottom and sidewall panels formed of two pieces of sheet metal,
one of said sheets forming the rear wall panel and the bottom wall panel of the box part, said bottom wall panel having downwardly extending flanges along the front edge and the side edges thereof, said rear wall panel having rearwardly extending flanges along the side edges thereof, the other of said sheets forming the front wall panel and the side wall panels of the box part, each of said side wall panels having a rebent flange formation at the rear edge thereof rebent inwardly and forwardly to provide a pocket receiving the adjacent rearwardly extending flange associated with said rear wall panel, a rebent flange formation at the lower end of each side,
wall panel rebent inwardly and upwardly to provide a pocket receiving the adjacent downwardly extending side flange associated with said bottom wall panel, said front wall panel having a rebent flange formation at the lower end thereof rebent inwardly and upwardly to provide a pocket receiving the downwardly extending front flange associated with said bottom wall panel, said bottom wall panel inclining forwardly toward the front wall panel when the box is in its normal hung position.

An improved news box having a box part presenting enclosing front, rear, bottom and side wall panels formed of two pieces of sheet metal, one of said sheets forming the rear wall panel and the bottom wall panel of the box part, said bottom wall panel having downwardly extending flanges along the front edge and the side edges thereof, said rear wall panel having rearwardly extending flanges along the side edges thereof, the other of said sheets forming the front wall panel and the side wall panels of the box part, each of said side wall panels having a rebent flange formation at the rear edge thereof rebent inwardly and forwardly to provide a pocket receiving the adjacent rearwardly extending flange associated with said rear wall panel, a rebent flange formation at the lower end of each side wall panel rebent inwardly and upwardly to provide a pocket receiving the adjacent downwardly extending flange associated with said bottom wall panel, said front wall panel having a rebent flange formation at the lower end thereof rebent inwardly and upwardly to provide a pocket receiving the downwardly extending front flange associated with said bottom wall panel, said front wall panel inclining rearwardly toward the bottom panel and said bottom wall panel inclining forwardly toward the front wall panel when the box is in its normal hung position, said box part being retained in rigid assembled relationship by securing said flange formations to the respective flanges pocketed therein.
