claims. (cl. izo-*110) This invention relates to improvements in heating apparatus.
The principal object ofthe invention is the provision of heating apparatus which is not only adapted for installation in various positions but which is simple in form and compact as well as economical in operation.
According to certain novel features of the invention, the heating apparatus may be suspended v from the ceilingor the like or set on its end or sidethereby adapted for installation in various ways and in numerous locations.
According to other novel features of the invention, the heating apparatus is arranged and constructed for ready and easy accessibility to its components.
With the foregoing and various other novel features and advantages and other objects of my invention as will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more particularly pointed out in the claims yhereunto annexed and more fully described and referred to in connection with the -i Fig. 4 is a partial sectional view through cover vplate 22.
Referring now to the drawings more in detail, the invention will be fully described.
A casing is provided which has front and rear walls 2 and 4, end Walls 6 and 8 and upper and lower walls I0 and I2.
Any or all of the walls -may be formed with depressions I4 and openings I6 with cover members I8 thereover as shown in Fig. 3. In Fig. 1 the rear and forward walls have covers and the end walls 6 and 8 have covers or cover plates 22 and 24. It will be understood that the cover plates may be secured to the casing in any well known manner and may be of any desired form.
A combustion chamber is provided adjacent the end wall 8 or the outlet end of the casing. Said chamber has yopposite Walls 32 and 34 which as in Fig. 1 converge to parallel walls 36. A rear wall 38 closes the rear side of the combustion `chamber 30 and the end is `extends outwardly of the' casing A plate 42` is removably secured to the side of the combustion chamberl 30 and a forward wallv 44 inclines away therefromL and connects with rear wall40,seeFig.v 2. It will be noted that the combustion chamber tapers rearwardly from the rforward or outletend of the casing so as to provide a narrowingl passageway forlthe products of combustion. t

A minor portion of the air flows around outside th'e member I i8 and outwardly between members H4 and |22 and is effective for cooling the end portion of the casing and carrying heat from the member I I8 outwardly.
It will be noted that the"cmbustiongehamber and compartments are" spaced from the casing walls in Fig. 2, but in some cases it may be desirable to eliminate said space.

Heating apparatus comprising in combination, a casing having an outlet end provided with jan air'outlet for connectior'i to an air systeiifa combustion chamber for an oil burner in the outlet end of said casing having rearwardly converging opposite walls extending inwardly of the casing away from said outlet and terminating in 4substantially parallel end portions providing a chamber which narrows from its forward end rearwardly, separate housings spaced from opposite-sides of said combustion chamber having inner walls substantially parallel to said end portions and converging walls -of the combustion 'chamber, hollow connections between said housings and end wall portions of the combustion chamber and a hollow connection between said housings, a suction device within said casing having a suction inlet connected to said last named connection and provided with a discharge ex- -tending through said casing, said casing provided with air inlet means for a blower, a blower within said casing rearwardly of said chamber and housings having an inlet and provided with a discharge for directing air towards and past said chamber and housings and therebetween and out the outlet of the casing and operating means `therefor outside said casing, and operative connections between said operating means and said suction device and blower, a 'baiile in the outlet end of the casing extending around and spaced from-the end of the combustion chamber and adjacent rearwardly extending walls thereof and from adjacent walls of the casing having an outlet of relatively less dimensions than those of saidair outlet whereby air from said blower is. directed around said combustion chamber to said.
outlet and in relatively less amount around said baiile and out said outlet,

Unitary heating apparatus comprising in combination, a casing having upper and lower and side and opposite end walls, one of said end walls provided with an air outlet of certain area, a Combustion chamber within the casing having an end wall spaced inwardly and rearwardly from said air outlet and curving upwardly and away from said outlet merging in upper and lower walls s which converge rearwardly and terminate in elongated upper and lower rearwardly extending and spaced upper and lower walls, vertical side walls secured to said end and upper and lower walls and an end wall secured to said side and upper and lower walls, closed housings within said casing above and below the upper and lower walls of said chamber having elongated outer and inner and side and end walls, said inner walls of `said housings being spaced from and substantial- 1y parallel to the upper and lower parallel and converging walls oi the combustion chamber, hol- -low connections extending between the inner rwalls of said housings and upper and lower walls of said combustion chamber, outer and side walls of said housing being spaced from adjacent walls of the casing, a hollow connection extending between inner walls of said housings, said casing provided with an air inlet means for a blower, an air blower in said casing adjacent the other end wall thereof having a discharge outlet for directing air to said air outlet past and between said housings and combustion chamber and casing -walls, a suction device within said casing having a suction inlet and a discharge extending through a side wall of said casing, a hollow connection connecting said suction inlet and said last-named hollow connections, separate driving means for said blower and suction device disposed outside said casing, and driving connections between said drivinemeansandnseid llolower,.-ar1 c1 suction means extendinsthroushsaidfcasins. c q g.
