The poster panel assembly is-.general'lyidesignated at to and is adapted-Ito :be :mounted on :a wall H. The poster "panel assemblyl l fl :includes a panel portion l2 which may be made ofilaminated wood construction, as shown in Fig. 4, and a frame portion [3 which may be made of sheet metal.

In order-to remove the'panel'se'ction F2, itmay be lifted off of the bottom hooks 1-5 and then removed.
Theframe portion -l3 preferably made'of sheet metal is provided around its periphery withflange l8 and an inturned flange 19. Apair of angle plates 20 are secured in spacedrelationto the top edge 'of-the frame portion I I3 by welding-or other suitable means. The angle plates 20 are ofrelatively heavy construction and are utilized for the purpose of supporting the frameportion l3 on the wall H. Apair of hooks 23 having hook portions 2 4 are driven into the wall I I above the hooks l5. A'cam plate 25 is Welded to each of the hooks 23 to jprovide an inclined cam surface thereon which cooperate with the angle plates 20.

Nuts 33 are carried by" the studs 32 for clampingthe angle plates 21 'to' the wall H. If desired, washers 34 may be located between the angle plates 21 and the. nuts 33. Thenuts 33 are preferably conical in shape and provided with holes for receiving a special wrench to 'preventunauthorized removal thereof.
'Theframeportion l3 of the panel poster may be suspended'on the hooks 23 by theangle-plates :20 and *when the frame portion is'in a vertical :position,:it is. held. adjacent to the wall H by the inclinedccam surf-ace :formed :by the cam plates .25. The bottom of the frame portion may be held against the wall ll by1the'nuts33 cooperating withthe angle plates 21.
.In :order -:to provide ready 7 access .to the panel portion :l'2, the nuts :33 :may be. removed: and the lower :end .of the frame portion swungoutwardly .from the wallas shown in :Fig. -3. When this occurs, the rangleplates 20 rideup the inclined surface .of the cam plates 25 to permit this outward swinging without binding or bending the angle .plates 20. The cam plates Z5, therefore, .operatetoat: all times maintain the upper edge .of the :frame portion 13 adjacent the wall H without bindlngpr bend n ,'regardless ofwhether Fig. 2, when the lower edge of the adjacent 31 to hold the lower edge of the frame portion l3 away from the wall and these props 36 may be folded up into the frame portion, as shown in frame portion is brought against the wall. When the frame portion 13 is swung away from the wall, as illustrated in Fig. 3, the panel portion 12 may be posted or painted without any danger of smearing or otherwise dirtying the frame portion. By reason of this arrangement, it is possible for the persons painting or posting to work more rapidly inasmuch as it is not necessary to watch out for the margin of the frame as has been the case in prior art constructions.
If desired, the panel portion I2 may be removed af-ter the frame portion [3 has been swung outwardly so that the posting or painting of the panel portion may be accomplished on the ground. Ready removal and replacement of the panel portion is provided by this arrangement for that purpose.
Because of the use of the hook arrangements for supporting the panel portion, extremely accurate location of the hooks is not required and. furthermore, the panel portion may be longitudinally adjusted to any desired position after the hooks are located in the wall.
Because of the hook arrangements 23 supporting the frame portion l3, the frame may be longitudinally adjusted so as to properly line up with the position of the panel portion and this longitudinal adjustment of the frame portion is permitted by the upper angle plates 20 and the slots 30 in the lower angle plates 21.
While for purposes of illustration, one form of this invention has been disclosed, other forms thereof may become apparent to those skilled in the art upon reference to this disclosure and, therefore, this invention is to be limited only by the scope of the appended claims.
I claim as my invention:
1. In a poster panel assembly for mounting a poster panel on an upright support, a frame to surround the poster panel, means for supporting the frame so as to permit the frame to be swung outwardly between inoperative and operative positions of use including an angle plate fixed to the upper edge portion of the plate with one side of the angle extending downwardly in spaced relation with the frame, a hook member extending outwardly from the support having an upwardly extending end portion adapted operatively to engage the underside of the angle plate, a cam plate fixed to the hook member between the upwardly extending portion and the support for cooperation with the angle plate for urging the upper edge portion of the frame and angle plate into engagement with the support during adjustment of the frame between inoperative and operative positions of use.
2. A poster panel assembly for mounting a poster panel on a support comprising a poster panel, cooperating pairs of upper and lower hooks fixed to the support in spaced apart relation slightly greater than the length of the poster panel with the downwardly extending hook end portions of the upper hooks being of greater length than the lower hooks to permit the lower edge of the poster panel to clear the lower hooks when the upper edge is raised into contact with the upper hooks, a frame for surrounding the poster panel, means for supporting the frame so as to permit the 4 I frame to be swung outwardly including an angle plate fixed to the upper edge of the frame with one side of the angle plate extending downwardly in spaced relation with the frame, a hook member extending outwardly from the support having an upwardly extending end portion adapted operatively to engage the underside of the angle plate, a cam plate fixed to the hook member between the upwardly extending portion and the support for cooperation with the angle plate for urging the upper edge portion of the frame and angle plate into engagement with the support in all positions of adjustment.
3. In a poster panel assembly for mounting a poster panel on an upright support, a frame to surround the poster panel, means for supporting the frame so as to permit the frame to be swung outwardly between inoperative and operative positions of use including an angle plate fixed to the upper edge portion of the plate with one side of the angle extending downwardly in spaced relation with the frame, a hook member extending outwardly from the support having an upwardly extending end portion adapted operatively to engage the underside of the angle plate, a cam plate fixed to the hook member between the upwardly extending portion and the support for cooperation with the angle plate for urging the upper edge portion of the frame and angle plate into engagement with the support during adjustment of the frame between inoperative and operative positions of use, and means for securing the lower edge portion of the frame against the support when in position of use.
4. A poster panel assembly for mounting a poster panel on a support comprising a poster panel, cooperating pairs of upper and lower hooks fixed to the support in spaced apart relation slightly greater than the length of the poster panel with the downwardly extending hook end portions of the upper hooks being of greater length than the lower hooks to permit the lower edge of the poster panel to clear the lower hooks when the upper edge is raised into contact with the upper hooks, a frame for surrounding the poster panel, means for supporting the frame so as to permit the frame to be swung outwardly including an angle plate fixed to the upper edge of the frame with one side of the angle plate extending downwardly in spaced relation with the frame, a hook member extending outwardly from the support having an upwardly extending end portion adapted operatively to engage the underside of the angle plate, a cam plate fixed to the hook member between the upwardly extending portion and the support for cooperation with the angle plate for urging the upper edge portion of the frame and angle plate into engagement with the support in all positions of adjustment, and props pivoted from the support adjacent the lower edge portion of the frame to hold the lower edge portion thereof in inoperative position when swung away from the support.
