This invention relates toa foul weather clothes bag. I

It is an object of the present invention to provide a foul weather clothes bag adapted to be extended over a hook of the door and which has a receptacle on its bottom end to receive the drops of water which may extend from a coat which has been worn in rainy weather or with snow and whereby to prevent the floor from be coming wet or stained and wherein there is provided detachable fastening means for the bag which can be connected to a thin plate extended over the upper edge of a door, the detachable means carrying the bracket on which the coat is hung and wherein the receptacle for receiving the water is removable from the bag so that the water can be emptied when the coat has finally been deprived of the water.

Other objects of the present invention are to provide a foul weather clothes bag which is of simple construction, easy to mount on a door, inexpensive to manufacture, consumes little space and efiicient in operation.

For other objects and for a better understanding of the invention, reference may be had to the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the clothes bag embodying the features of the present invention suspended from a door.

Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view illustrating another manner of mounting the device but the bag being viewed in section on line 2-2 of Fig. 1.

Fig. 3 is a collective and perspective view of the supporting elements.

Fig. 4 is a fragmentary and perspective view looking at the lower corner of the clothes bag.

Fig. 5 is a fragmentary and detail sectional view taken on line 5-5 of Fig. 4.

Referring now to the figures, represents a cloth or flexible waterproof piece which has a hem I! at its upper end through which extends a rod 2 with a center projection or loop I3 adapted to be connected over a hook [4. of a bracket i5 which can be either connected to a door or wall I6 by screws I! as shown in Fig. 2 or may be connected by its bent over upper end or hook formation 18 to a removable plate or channel I9 having a bent up lip 21 to receive the formation it and which is extended over the top edge of a door. The bracket l5 has openings 22 for the screws l! and also has vertically spaced clamps or strips 23 and 22 for receiving downwardly bent ends 25 and 2% respectively of a hanger wire or loop 27 adapted to receive a coat hange 28 on which a coat or other garment 29 which is in a wet condition may be hung.

The lower end of the flexible piece I0 is extended upwardly to provide a pocket 3| for receiving a waterproof receptacle 32. The folded up end is hemmed at 33 and has a stiffening rod 3d therethrough which is supported from

Bent stiffening wires 31 are provided on the opposite end of the bent up end of the flexible material 3! to form and maintain the shape of the pocket. Cloth material is extended about the supporting frame .3! to close the ends of the pocket as indicated at 38. The sides of the flexi- I ble material is hemmed as indicated at 39. The side end closure material is hemmed as indicated at il and is bent over at, Fig. 5.

The wire 27 can be pivoted to one side or the other when not in use. The water will run off the clothing and into the receptacle and be collected as indicated at 4'3. Thereafter, the hanger can be removed from the hook I 4 and the receptacle or pocket drained of the water contents.

The clothes bag can also be folded when not in use and stored on a shelf. Likewise, the bracket 15 can be removed from a top plate I9.

While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it shall be understood that such changes shall be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined in the appended claim.

Having thus set forth and disclosed the nature of my invention, what is claimed is:

A foul weather clothes bag comprising a flexible backing piece having a pocket formation on its lower end, a receptacle disposed in said pocket formation, a bracket adapted to be secured to a door or wall, said flexible backing secured to the bracket, a member extending outwardly from the bracket and adapted to receive a garment and retain the same so that it is vertically aligned with the receptacle to receive water dripping from said garment, and said bracket having a hook formation on its upper end and a plate or channel adapted to be fitted over the upper edge of a door and having a hook formation receiving and supporting the hook formation of the bracket.
