Description
March 13, 1951 BQWDEN 2,545,338
ATTACHMENT FOR TOILET TANKS Filed Jan. 18, 1946 Ma en (Jam/wan Patented Mar. 13, 1951 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 1 Claim.
This invention relates to an attachment for a toilet flush tank and the primary object of the invention is to provide a water reservoir or vessel that is applied to the tank and holds a small amount of water which the user of the toilet can use to cleanse himself after he has occupied the toilet seat.
The device is especially adapted for use by people who have piles, permitting the rectum to be cleansed by dipping toilet tissue in the vessel and cleansing the rectum therewith followed by wiping with dry tissue.
It will also prevent the objectional embarrassing stain that often appears in underclothing.
With the above and. other objects and advantages in view the invention consists of the novel details of construction, arrangement and combination of parts more fully hereinafter described, claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which: I
Figure l is an elevational view of a toilet bowl and fiush tank used therewith with an embodiment of the invention as applied thereto;
Figure 2 is a side view thereof;
I Figure 3 is a sectional view of the tank and the device as installed thereon and Figure 4 is an elevational view of the embodiment of the invention.
Referring more in detail to the drawing the reference numeral l designates the conventional toilet bowl and the conventional flush tank I2 used in conjunction therewith which is connected to the bowl by the curved pipe [4.
In carrying out the invention a vessel It having a tapered curved bottom 18 and an open top 20 is secured to the side of the flush tank by the hollow bolt 22 having the head 24 contacting the inner side of the vessel [6, the shoulder 26 engaging the opening 28 in the side of the vessel and the washer 30 and nut 32 which locks and retains the vessel in position on the tank and provides a water tight seal therebetween.
The vessel I6 is positioned below the water line of the fiush tank so that it will fill and empty every time the flush tank fills and empties.
It will be seen therefore that a supply of water has been provided in close proximity to the toilet bowl which will permit the user of the toilet to clean his rectum after evacuation of his body.
It is believed the purpose, construction and use of the device will be obvious to those skilled in the art and it is to be understood that changes, in the details of construction, arrangement and combination of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new and desired to be secured by *Letters Patent is:
In an auxiliary water attachment for a toilet tank having flat outside surfaces the improvement comprising an open top liquid container having a fiat side, a hollow bolt carried by the container and extending outwardly of the fiat side of the container adjacent the bottom thereof, one of the flat outside surfaces of the tank having an opening therein below the normal water level of the tank and adjacent the bottom of the tank to receive the hollow bolt, a water tight connection on said bolt whereby the flat side of the container is drawn into face to face'engagement with the fiat surface of the tank and the container is supported on the tank, the container being disposed in relation to the tank so that the water level in the container will be the same as the water level in the tank so that the flushing of the tank will simultaneously efiect the flushing of the container.
