This invention relates to a game apparatus and is consists in the constructions, arrangements and combinations herein described and claimed.

It is an important object of the invention to provide a novel and amusing device by means of which various games may be played that will be entertaining and amusing to the participants as well as to observers.

It is a still further and important object of the invention to provide a game apparatus wherein a pair of objects are secured together by an internally disposed elastic element, adapted to be twisted to provide a gyratory movement of the objects when laid upon a supporting or playing surface, the objects being provided with a plurality of ribs or projections which function to.

It is also an object of the invention to provide a game apparatus which may be readily molded from suitable plastics and readily assembled, enabling the device to be produced and sold ata low cost.

There is illustrated a game apparatus generally indicated by the reference character I0 consisting of a pair of elongated body members II and [2, connected together in tandem relation by an elastic or flexible member whereby the body members may partake of gyratory or rolling movements, as will be understood, as the description proceeds.

Each of the body members II and I2 is of hollow formation having an end wall l3 and an opposite open end 14. A plurality of circumferentially spaced ribs or projections l5 are formed integrally with the body members, extending longitudinally thereof and of arcuate formation, the longitudinal edges of the projections being slightly rounded as at 16 to provide a smooth rolling action during operation of the device. The terminal end I! of the collar, of the member II is shown as having a convex face I8, while the end I! of the member l2 has a concave face [9, these faces being complemental to each other during operation of the device as will be explained.

It will be noted that by providing circumferentially spaced ribs or projections I5 a flat surface or space 20 is formed therebetween and upon which numerals 21 or other indicia may be displayed, the former being shown in the present instance.

Transversely of each hollow body member II and i2 a pin 22 is secured, between which an elastic band 23 is engaged, the band being of such length as to cause the convex face [8 to be drawn into and seat within the concave face I9, as shown in Figure 2. The body members I l and 12 may be readily assembled upon the band, by positioning one loop thereof within one body and inserting the pin 22 therethrough and into the openings 24 of the body. The other looped end of the band is then disposed in the other body member so that the pin may be engaged through the adjacent loop of the band and seat within the openings 24. Or, if desired, the band may be inserted through openings 25 formed in the walls l3 and the pins 22 then engaged with respective looped ends of the band. While an elastic band has been shown and described, it will be obvious that a suitable spring may be secured to the pins and will function equally as well.

In use, the body elements II and I2 are held in the players hands and rotated in opposite directions until the band 23 has become twisted to a desired degree, when the device is laid down upon a playing surface; the body members will rotate and gyrate in opposite directions. By reason of the convex and concave faces l8 and 19, a smooth rotating action is inherent, the body members alternating as the pivot under unwinding of the elastic band. When the band has been unwound to a point where it is no longer able to rotate the body members, these will stop, but

. always resting upon a pair of the ribs or projections, thus presenting the numerals 2| of the two body members to view. The ribs or projections are thus important factors, for they definitely bring the numerals to views and there can be no question as to which two numerals are displayed.

Various games may be played with the device, as will be apparent, and one illustration would be to total the numerals for a high score over a period of attempts, with a penalty if a pair of zeros should be displayed.

While I have shown and described a preferred form of the device, this is by way of illustration only, and I consider as my own, all such modifications in construction as fairly fall within the scope of the appended claim.

I claim:

A game apparatus comprising a pair of elongated hollow body members having a closed end and an open end, the open end of one body member having a concave face, the open end of the other body member having a convex face, said faces being in abutting relation, a flexible connection secured within said hollow body members for maintaining said end faces in rotatable contacting engagement when said flexible connecti'on is under twisted tension, each of said body members having longitudinally extended circumferentially spaced ribs, said ribs having an armate contour in the longitudinal plane of the body members and radially rounded corners, and a numeral on each of said body members positioned between said ribs.
