YReferring now to the figures, I0 represents -fa cabinet structure in which-:are disposed drawers :1I l, Iz and la, anda-.cupboard closet adapted to cabinet have casters I5 on their lower ends wherebythe cabinet can be rolled over the floor surface. On one end of the cabinet is a container'or waste can I6 for the immediate disposal of wet diapers. Also, on the-same end of the cabinet is a rail I1 overvwhich clean diapers may be hung. The cabinet 'structure Il) has a flat top I8 to which the combined bed surface and safety pen I9 is connected by means of fasteners 2l at the ends thereof.

This 'combined bed surface and pen comprises ya bed surface 422 which serves as a door kfor the pen. This door vvsurface is covered with light grade linoleum 'and can be easily cleaned.

The 'combined bed surface fand .safety pen I9 Yincludes end walls`23'and 24, a back 'wall 25 which 'extends the 'full length of the pen, and two front gates 26 and 21 which unite at the center of the pen and vwhich'are adapted to be swung outwardly and around and back against the outside of the Vrespective ends 23 and'ZIl. The hinge connections of the gates with the forward edges of the end walls are shown at 23 in Figure 5. It will be noted that thehinge 'joint ris on the end of an angle bracket portion 29 secured to the `edge of the end wall 24 by screws 3l. The joining hinge plate, `"as indicated at 32, for the gate is connected to the gate by screws 33. The gates 26 and 21 swing yover Vthe `iloor or bed surface 22. Latch bolts 34v and 35 connect the inner ends of the gates to the floor 22. The upper ends of the gates 26 and 21 are held together by the union of hinge plates k36 'and -31 and a removable hinge pin 39 slidable through a guide 4I and operated by a handle 42, 4Figure 6.

The end wall 23 is hinged to the bed surface 22 by hinges '44, Figures 3 and 4, rso that when the gate 26 has been swung outwardly and against the outside of the end wall 23, the end wall and gate can be swung inwardly and downwardly to Test upon the bed-surface 22, as shown in Figure 3. On the Vother end of the floor surface is a -riser e5 to'which end wall 24 is pivoted for similar downward movement by hinges 46. The end wall `24 and the gate 21 whichhas lbeen swung outwardly and onto the outside of the end wall will lhave their upper ends rest upon the upper ends vof the end wall 23 and gate 26 when these parts have beenfolded inwardly anddownwardly, Figure v3. The

23 and 24 are detachably connected by hinge plates 41 and 48 and a removable hingepin 49 to aback wall 25 which extends lthe full length of the` pen. This fback wall 25 is pivoted uponariserl for inward pivotal movement so that it can be folded down on top of the other parts, as shown in Figure 3. The pivot connection is effected by means of hinges 52, Figure 4.

According to Figure 6, the handle 42 is so situated on the hinge pin 39 as to prevent thelatter from becoming disengaged from the guide 4| even though the pin is lowered as far as the handle 42 will permit. However, when the hinge pin 35 is elevated to a point where the handle 42 is brought into engagement with the guide 4 I, the lower end of the hinge pin will become disengaged from the loop 54 of the hinge section-31 but will be retained in the uppermost loop 55 of the hinge section 36. Thus the hinge sections may be disconnected one from the other by lifting the hinge pin as far as it will go. v

It will now be apparent that there has bee provided a compact and folded structurewhch can be removed from the cabinet l for the purposeV of being transported to a different location. The folded pen can be placed in an automobile and taken away for picnics, vacations, and extended visits. The -bed which is the surface 22 and which is a part of the pen is removable from the cabinet structure l0. Even though the child has outgrown the bed and pen, the cabinet can still be used as a useful piece of furniture. In case of sickness or for sun bathing, one end of the bed and pen can be left fastened to the top of the cabinet and the other end raised to a reasonable height to provide an inclined bed surface. Additional working surface can bek provided by pulling out slides 54 of the cabinet.

Having now described our'invention, we claim:

1. A foldable and demountable crib comprising a main base having a flat top, a secondary base comprising a platesresting removably upon said main base top, means removably securing said secondary base invplac'e on said main base top, a first vertical end wall comprising a plate resting upon said secondary base plate, a second end wall comprising a'riser fixed on said secondary base plate anda second wall plate resting upon said riser, hinge means at the lower Vedges of said first and second end wall plates hinging the same to said secondary base plate and said riser, respectively, whereby sai-d first end wall vcan be folded inwardly to rest upon said secondary base plate and said second end wall plate can be folded inwardly to `rest upon the inwardly folded first end wall plate, a front wall comprising a pair of front vertical plates resting their lower edges upon said secondary base plate, latch means releas'ably securing the adjacent inward edges of said front" lates together, means on the outward edges of said front plates hinging said front plates to the forward edges of said rst and second end fwall plates whereby said front plates can be swung forwardly to provide frontal access to said secondary base plate with said latch means released and whereby said front plates can be swung outwardlyand rearwardly to lie along the outward sides'of said end wall plates both in the vertical and in the reclining folded positions of said end wall plates, a vertical rear wall comprising a riser fixed on said secondary base plate and a rear wall plate hinged at its lower edge on the upper edge of said riser to swing forwardly and downwardly to rest upon the front wall plate folded onto the related secondpend wall plate, releasable catch means connecting the rear edges of said end wall plates to the opposite end edges of said rear wall plate in vertical positions thereof.

2. A foldable and demountable crib comprising a main base having a fiat top, a secondary base comprising a plate resting removably upon said main base top, `means removably securing said secondary base in place on said main base top, a first vertical end wall comprising a plate resting uponsaid secondary base plate, a second end wall comprising a riser fixed on said secondary base plateY and alsecond: wall plate resting upon said riser; hinge means atthe lower edges of said first and second end wall plates hinging the same to said secondary base plate and said riser, re-

spectively, whereby said rst end wall can be upn said secondary base plate, latch means releasably securing the adjacent inward edges of said.frontfplates'togethenmeans on the outward edgesfof said4 front' ;plates hinging said front plates to the forward edges of said rst and second end-wall: plates whereby said front plates can be swung forwardly to provide frontal access to said secondary base plate with said latch means released and wherebysaid front plates can be swung outwardly and rearwardly to lie along the outward sides of said end wallplates both in the vertical and Yin the reclining folded positions of said end wall plates, aA vertical rear wall comprising a riser fixed on said secondary base plate and a rear wall plate hinged at its lower edge on the upper edge of said riser to swing forwardly and downwardly to rest upon the front wall plate folded ontothe related second end wall plate, releasable catchmeans yconnecting the rear edges ofsaid end wall plates to the opposite end edges of said rear wall plate in vertical positions thereof, the dimensions and thicknesses of said end wall and front wall plates and the heights of said risers being proportioned to permit the folded end -walls and front plates to lie parallelly upon each other and the folded rear wall plate to lie parallelly thereon in a compact form lying substantially entirely Awithin the edges of said secondary base plate.

3. A foldable; and demountable crib comprising a main base having a flat top, a secondary base comprising a plate yresting removably upon said main base top, means removably securing said secondary base, in place on said main base top, a-,rst vertical end wall comprising a plate resting upon said secondary base plate, a second end wall comprisinga riser fixed on said secondary -base plate and `a second wall plate resting upon said riser, hinge means at the lower edges of said first and second end wall plates hinging the same to said secondary base plate and saidv riser, respectively, whereby said first end wall can be folded inwardly to rest upon said secondary base plate and Asaid second,` end wall plate can be folded inwardly to Vrest upon the inwardly folded rst end wall plate, a'front wall comprising a pair of front vertical plates resting their lower edges upon 'said secondarybase plate, latch means releasablyV securing theadjacent inward edges of said front plates together, means on the outward edges of. said front plates hinging said front plates to` the for'wardvedges of 'said first and second end wallplates whereby said front plates can be swung forwardly to providefrontal access to said secondary basef plate with said latch means released landjufhereby said front plates can be swungotwardly andirearwardly .to lie' along the out-ward sides of said end wall plates both in the vertical and in the reclining folded positions of said end wall plates, a vertical rear wall comprising a riser iiXed on said secondary base plate and a rear wall plate hinged at its lower edge on the upper edge of said riser to swing forwardly and downwardly to rest upon the front wall plate folded onto the related second end wall plate, releasable catch means connecting the rear edges of said end wall plates to the opposite end edges of said rear wall plate in vertical positions thereof, the hinge means connecting said front wall plates with the forward edges of said end wall plates preventing rearward swinging of said front wall plates from a copla-nar relation, and releasable detent means operating between the lower edges of said front wall plates and said secondary base to prevent forward front wall plate and the end wall plates to which they are hinged from shifting forwardly or rearwardly relative to said secondary base plate. k
