Claims.

1 My invention relates to blouses more particularly designed for womens wear. Women's blouses usually extend only slightly below the waist line and are held in place at the waist by the belt of the skirt or an additional belt. However, in bending or stooping, the back part of the blouse is pulled from or works out of position at the belt line, which necessitates that the wearer be constantly tucking that part of the blouse back into the skirt, at the belt line.

My invention has for its object the provision of a blouse of such form, and a belt attachment therefor, that will insure that the rear part of the blouse will be held in place at the waist line, instead of creeping up in such manner as to leave a gap between the skirt belt and the lower edge of the waist, the belt being so arranged and the blouse so formed that the front of the blouse is neatly held in place.

In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 shows the garment in position upon a wearer; Fig. 2 is a rear view of the garment, and Fig. 3 is a front view thereof.

While the invention is here shown as applied to a sleeve-less blouse which is not open down the front, it will be understood that the invention is applicable to blouses of other forms, including those that have sleeves and those which are fully open at the front, or partly open at the front or back.

The back of the blouse is indicated by the numeral 5 and the front thereof by the numeral 6. Vents or slits I are provided at the sides of the blouse. A belt 8 of any material suitable for garments of this character is securely fastened to the rear portion 5 of the blouse.

The skirt will extend into the slits I, so that the rear part of the skirt, at the belt line, will extend into the blouse and that portion of the blouse forwardly of the slits will extend into the skirt. The belt can then be fastened at the front as in Fig. l.

I claim as my invention:

1. A blouse having front and rear portions divided for a substantial vertical distance at each side thereof, and a belt whose mid portion is secured to the rear portion of the blouse adjacent to its lower edge, and having a front portion extending across the lines of division and positioned for connection across the front of the blouse.

2. A blouse having front and rear portions divided for a substantial vertical distance by a slit at each side thereof, and a belt whose mid portion is secured to the rear portion of the blouse and having a front portion positioned to be placed across the front of the blouse, the slits being adapted to receive the upper edge of a skirt, whereby the rear portions of the blouse and the belt can be disposed outside the skirt and the lower front portion of the blouse can extend into the skirt, the front portions of the belt being adapted for connection across the front of the skirt.

3. A blouse having a belt secured. to the lower edge thereof along lines extending approximately one-half the circumference of the blouse,

at its rear portion, the belt having free ends that will extend across the front of the blouse and be fastened to each other and there being vertical slits between the front and rear portions of the blouse, to receive the upper portion of the skirt, so that the rear portion of the blouse can overlie a skirt and its forward portion extend into the skirt.

4. A blouse or the like having front and rear portions of approximately equal circumferential dimension, and a belt secured to the lower edge of the rear portion and being normally free of the front portion, the belt being disposed at the waist line, the front portion of the blouse having free vertical edges at the sides of the blouse and extending to the lower edge of the belt, and the belt being adapted for connection across the front of the blouse.

5. A blouse comprising front and rear portions divided at their lower ends for a substantial vertical distance by a slit at each side of the blouse intermediate the front and rear portions, and a belt section projecting from the rear edge of each slit, said belt sections being extendible over the front portion and having cooperating securing means adjacent their free ends.
