Another object of the invention is to'pfovide itself-wringing roller sanitary mop which iseasy -to-operateg-sanitary in use and espcially adapted for use in hospitals. though it could be as successfully used in homes and other places.
A further object of the invention is to provide a-rhop' that. is simple in construction, eflicint in \op'erati'ong durable"andreliable in use and economical to manufacture.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists of the novel details of construction, arrangement and combination of parts more fully hereinafter described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which: 7

Referring more in detail to the drawings the reference numeral Ill comprises the channel shaped housing having an upturned end [3 to which a channelled shaped cover I2 is hingedly connected by means of a hinge II, to provide a unit assembly substantially triangular in cross section.
A bracket I' l secured to the bottom of the housing In by fasteners mounts a shaft [8 to which there are secured rollers for movement of the housing over the surface to be cleaned.
Bearings 22 secured to the front of the housing in on opposite sides thereof by fasteners 24 are adapted to mount a shaft 26 therein which extends transversely of the housing and is proided with sprockets 28 adjacent the ends thereof and mounted on the shaft 26 intermediate of the sprockets 28 is the roller 36.

Secured to the rear: of the housing-Flo ian allel relation to the bearings 3-4 by-means of fasteners. 50iarethebearings 52-whieh are adapted to mount :a shaft 54 in parallel relation-to shaft 36 on which are mounted the sprockets 56 parallel to the sprockets 38 and the former are connected to sprockets 48 by sprocket chains 58 in parallel relation with the chains 40.
The ends of the chains 40 and 58 are connected to a plate 60 at the center of which is mounted a rod 62 which extends transversely of the housing Ill and passes through the longitudinally extending handle 64' and the rod 62 is retained in position by cotter pins 66.
Mounted in the upturned end 13 of the housing I0 is a guide tube 68 having a circular flange (10 which is secured to the housing ID by the fasteners I2 and the handle 64 is slidably mounted therein.
The forward end of the handle 64 is provided with head coupling 14 to which the mop material 16 is fastened, and the coupling M is secured to the handle 64 by fasteners 18.
Mounted at the forward end of the housing In is a mop material shield 80.
The cover I2 is provided with an alinement lip 82 adapted to seat in the recess 84 in the housing l0. Elongated guideways 86 are provided in the sides of the cover and housing to permit free reciprocation of the rod 62. The half moon spring clips 88 mounted in eyes 90, secured to the housing and cover, tension the rollers against the mop material for the wringing thereof.
In operation the mop material is pushed outwardly of the housing by pushing on the handle 64. The mop is saturated with the cleaning liquid and by applying the mop to the floor and engaging the floor with the roller 26 the entire assembly may be pushed over the floor for the mopping thereof. When it is desired to wring the mop the mop material is drawn through the rollers for the extraction of water thereof by pulling the handle [i l so that the mop material is the cover: e
drawn between the rollers 30 and 42. Thus a device is provided which will quickly and expeditiously extract water from the mop material without the necessity of wringing the mop by hand.
It is thought that persons skilled in the art to which the invention relates will be able to obtain a clear understanding of the invention after considering the descriptlon in connection with the drawings. Therefore, a more lengthy description of the operation thereof is regarded as unnecessary.
It is also to be understood that changes in the details of construction, arrangement and combination of parts may be resorted to within the spirit of the invention and the scope .of the appended claims.
Having thus described the invention what is claimed as new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:
1. A self-wringing mop comprising a housing or 'ch'annel'shape having an uptu'rned end with a sleeve guide therein, a cover hinged to the upturned end of the channel, rollers respectively extended across the ends of the housing and the cover opposite the upturned end, a mop handle 4 operated as the handle is drawn through the guide sleeve and the mop material through the rollers, and biasing means for maintaining the rollers together and the cover closed upon the housing.
2. A self-wringing mop as defined in claim 1, wherein said means for connecting the handle to the chain device comprise plates interconnecting the chain ends, and a shaft connected to and extending between the plates and through the sides of the housing and through the mop handle, said housing having a slot for receiving the shaft whereby to cause the same to be guided as it is moved by the chain device.
