2 Claims.
Another object of the invention is to provide a holder on which a pair of pails can be releasably secured.
A further object of the invention is to provide a pair of pails and holder therefor which is extremely simple and inexpensive to manufacture.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent during the course of the following description.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this application, and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same:
Figure 1 is a top plan view-of the device, according to the present invention,
Figure 2 is a sectional view taken on the line 2--2 of Figure 1, showing in dotted lines a pail being removed from the holder,
Figure 3 is a side elevational view of the holder, 7 v
Figure 4 is an end elevational view of the device,
Figure 5 is a view of the pail holder, taken on the line 5-5 of Figure 4.
In the drawings, wherein for the purpose of illustration, is shown a preferred embodiment of the invention, the pail holder is designated generally by the numeral I0, Figures 1 to 5, and embodies a pair of vertically disposed, spaced, parallel, tapering side walls II and I2. Interposed between the side walls II and I2 and secured to the bottom edges of each of the latter, is the horizontally disposed bottom wall I3. The bottom wall I3 is formed with a U-shaped vertically disposed partition I4 which projects upwardly iron the bottom wall I3 and has its opposed ends secured to spaced side walls II and I2, Figures 2 and 5. Each of the side walls II and I2 is provided with a means for releasably securing a pair of pails I 5 and I6 on the holder III. The securing means comprises ears I1 and I8 on the top ends of the respective side walls II and I2 and the ears I! and I8 each have a recessed or cut out portion I9, Figure 5, intermediate their ends for a purpose to be hereinafter described.
For carrying the pail holder III, an arcuately shaped handle is provided, the ends of the handle 20 extending through the lug 2| on the wall II and the lug 22 on the wall I2 and the ends of the handle 20 are secured to the complemental side walls II and I2 by means of the respective pins 8 and 9.
The pails I5 and I6, Figures 1, 2 and 4 are of like construction and each embodies a vertically disposed fiat end wall 23, a curved, continuous side wall 25, and a bottom wall 25 disposed below the walls 23 and 24 and secured thereto. The bottom wall 25 is provided with a bent portion 26, Figure 2, for slidably engaging the bottom wall I3 of the pail holder I0. Extending around the upper edgs of the respective pails I5 and I6 are beads 21 and 28, Figure 2, which abut each other when the pails I5 and I6 are in carrying position on the holder III.
In use, a pair of pails I5 and I6 is positioned as shown in Figures 1, 2 and 4 on the holder III by moving the pail so that the beads 21 and 28 are seated in abutting relation in the cut out I9 of the respective ears I! and I8. The bent portion 26 of each of the pails I5 and I6 slidably engages the opposed sides of the bottom wall I3 of the holder II). Thus the twin pails l5 and I6 can be carried in abutting relation and when it is desired, either pail I5 or it may be removed from the pail holder I0 without disturbing the other pail.
While in the foregoing there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of this invention it is to be understood that minor changes in the details of construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is: o
1. A holder for a pair of pails, comprising a pair of vertically disposed, spaced, parallel, side walls, a horizontally disposed bottom wall arranged between said side walls and secured to the bottom edges of the latter, a partition arranged at right angles with respect to said bottom wall and secured to said bottom wall and side walls, said pails being arranged in abutting relation at their upper rim portions with respect to each other and supported on said bottom wall of the holder, an arcuately shaped handle secured to said side walls for carrying said holder and pails and means embodying a recessed ear on each of said side walls for releasably securing said pails on said holder.
2. A holder for a pair of pails, comprising a pair of vertically disposed, spaced, parallel, side walls, a horizontally disposed bottom wall arranged between said side walls and secured to the bottom edges of the latter, a partition arranged at right angles with respect to said bottom wall and secured to said bottom wall and side walls, said pails being arranged in abutting relation at their upper rim portions with respect 5 to each other and supported on said bottom wall of the holder, an arcuately shaped handle secured to said side walls for carrying said holder and pails means embodying a recessed ear on: each ofsai'd sidewalls for releasably" securing" REFERENCES CITED The following references are of record in the file of this patent:
