Ind., a corporation Application December 12, mwsenarm: '7911340 :4 Claims. .1 This invention relates to a mop wringer for removable attachment within-' the usual pail and off-perforated conical F form 1 such as to compress zthe: mop andapermit a wedg'ing action for twisting, wringing and squeezing the water therefrom into the pail.

One feature of the invention resides in the mounting clip and supporting bracket for removably securing and positioning the mop wringer within the pail with its central vertical axis extending parallel to the central vertical axis of the pail, as hereinafter more particularly set forth and described.

The full nature of the invention will be understood from the accompanying drawings and the following description and claims.

Fig. 1 is a central vertical section through a mopping pail showing the wringer mounted therein, said wringer being shown in side elevation with a portion broken away and shown in section.

Fig. 2 is a plan view of the mopping pail with a portion broken away, with the wringer mounted thereon.

In the drawings there is shown a mopping pail l having a beaded rim l2. Said mopping pail is of the usual standard shape wherein the wall has a slight inward and downward taper, terminating in the bottom bead l3.

The m'op wringer I4 is frusto-conical in shape and is formed of sheet metal tapering inwardly and downwardly, terminating in a bottom l5 provided with a plurality of perforations l6 therein, the bottom being substantially smaller in diameter than the open top. The frusto-conical side wall of the wringer is provided with a series of perforations l1, and terminates at its topin an annular bead I8.

As it is desirable to removably mount the wringer within the pail and to maintain it rigidly in position with its vertical axis AA in parallel relation with the vertical axis B--B of the pail, there is provided a supporting bracket l9. Said supporting bracket comprises a strap of spring steel having a body portion extending from the top to the bottom of the wringer adjacent the inner surface thereof. At the top of said bracket it is folded over the bead l8 and formed with an inwardly bent flexing shoulder 20, terminating in a downwardly extending clamping tongue 2|. The free end of the clamping tongue is turned outwardly to provide a flared lip 22 at its free end. At the lower end of the body portion of the bracket there is formed a laterally-extending :2, U-shaped clip 23 having an inwardly turned nexing e'nu z'aa w'rin'g'er is provided with elongated apertur'e zli adjacent its bottom f5 through which the clip 23 may be extended in mounting the bracket on the wringer. Upon the clip being passed through the aperture with the flexing end 24 compressed thereby, said flexing end will spring away into interlocking engagement with the outer surface of the bottom 15. The bracket is thus locked on the wringer after the body portion is inserted therein over the bead ill with the clamping tongue extending downwardly along the outer surface of the wall. The clip 23 in addition to locking the bracket in position over the wringer, extends laterally from the bottom to engage the inner wall of the pail when the wringer is mounted thereon. Thus, the clip is so dimensioned as to form a foot at the bottom of the wringer for holding it outwardly from the wall of the pail to thereby maintain its axis A-A I parallel to the axis BB.

By reason of the flexing shoulder 20 and the outwardly flared lip 22, a bracket may be readily mounted upon the pail and secured in place under spring tension for removal therefrom.

By means of this construction of the bracket it may not only be economically produced and assembled on the wringer, but provides a spring clip for conveniently securing it over the edge of the pail and at the same time provides a laterally-extending and protruding foot for retaining the wringer in parallel relation therewith.

The invention claimed is:

1. A supporting bracket for a mop wringer having an inwardly and. downwardly sloping perforated wall adapted to be mounted on the side of a mopping pail, said bracket having a body'portion extending from the top to the bottom of said wringer, a clamping tongue provided at the top of said bracket for clamping engagement over the rim of the pail, and a laterally-projecting foot formed at the lower end of said bracket to interlock with said wringer and extend laterally therefrom into abutting engagement with the adjacent Wall of the pail for spacing the lower end of the wringer therefrom.

2. A supporting bracket for a mop wringer having an inwardly and downwardly sloping perforated wall adapted to be mounted on the side of a mopping pail, said bracket having an elongated strap portion extending from over the top of said wringer to adjacent the bottom thereof, a clamping tongue extending from the top of said strap portion downwardly adjacent the upper outer portion of the wringer adapted to be sprung over the rim of the pail into clamping engagement therewith, and a laterally projecting foot formed at the lower end of said bracket to extend through said wringer into abutting engagement with the adjacent wall of the pail for spacing the lower end of the wringer therefrom.

A supporting bracket for a mop wringer hav ing an inwardly and downwardly sloping perforated wall adapted to be mounted on the side 01 a mopping pail, said bracket having a body portion extending from the top to the bottom of said wringer, a clamping tongue provided at the top of said bracket for clamping engagement over the rim of the pail, and a spring clip forming a laterally-projecting foot at the lower end of said bracket extending through an aperture in the wringer for interlocking engagement therewith and into abutting engagement with the'adjacent wall of the pail for spacing the lower end of the wringer therefrom.

4. A supporting bracket for a mop wringer having an inwardly and downwardly sloping perforated wall adapted to be mounted on the side of a mopping pail, said bracket having an elongated strap portion extending from over the top of said wringer to adjacent the bottom thereof, a clamping tongue extending from the top of said strap portion downwardly adjacent the upper outer portion of the wringer adapted to be sprung over the rim of the pail into clamping engagement therewith, and a U-shaped spring clip adapted to extend through an aperture in the wringer adjacent the bottom thereof having a flexing end for interlocking therewith, said spring clip forming a foot to extend laterally into abutting engagement with the adjacent wall of the pail for spacing the lower end of the wringer therefrom.
