To secure the divided top sections J, J, in a horizontal plane for playing table tennis; the swinging latches M, pivoted to the underside of one section of the table top are shifted to engage the keepers N, attached to the underside of the adjoining top section, thereby securing the sections in alignment.
To adjust the tableto the position shown in Figure 4, for storage purposes, the sections of the divided table top JJ, are pushed toward each other until they assume the positions indicated in Figure 4; the bench seats D--D automatically adjusting themselves to the positions as shown in said view by sliding movement of the pins J' in the slots F and tilting of the seats about the pins 7.
What I claim is:
1. An article of furniture comprising transversely extending end sections disposed vertically and having lower cross bars projecting from opposite sides thereof and vertically extending; legs at opposite ends of the cross bars, a lon I gitudinally extending bar between the end sections secured at their ends to the cross bars there-of, a table top disposed horizontally and having end portions supported upon the said end sections, seats extending longitudinally at opposite sides of the connected end sections and table top, brackets mounted transversely of said 'seatsunder end portions thereof and extending transversely thereof and downwardly therefrom, said brackets having inner end portions pivoted to upper ends of the legsfa'nd outwardly of the legs being formed with longitudinally extending arcuate slots, upper and lower links, the lower links having lower ends pivoted to lower portions of the legs, bolts pivotally connecting lower ends of the upper links with upper ends of the lower links and slidably passing through said slots, table-top sections for resting fiat upon the first mentioned table top with inner ends abutting midway the width of the first table top, brackets depending from opposite side portions of the said table-top sections and pivoted to upper ends of the upper links and pivotally mounting the said jtable-top sections for swinging movement from a position flat upon the first table-top to an upright position back of the seats, the upper links having lower end portions formed with bayonet slots leading from their outer side edges, bolts carried by the upper ends of the lower links for engaging through the bayonet slots and releasably holding the upper and lower links in alignment, the seats being tiltable upwardly and inwardly about their pivotal connections with upper ends of the legs from a horizontal position for use to a substantially vertical folded position, and latches for releasably holding inner ends of the table-top sections in abutting en- 4 gagement with each other.
2. An article of furniture comprising a table including a frame having vertical, spaced, con- J nected end sectionsand atop supported horizontally upon the frame, floor-engaging legs disposed vertically and spaced outwardly from op posite sides of the frame and connected to said end sections, seats extending longitudinally of tion for use to a vertically disposed folded position, table-top sections for resting upon the top of said table and forming an auxiliary table top having portions projecting from opposite sides of the first mentioned table top, brackets depending from opposite side edge portions of the said table top sections, the brackets of said seats being formed with slots extending longitudinally thereof, supports formed of lower links having lower ends pivoted to lower portions of said legs and upper links having upper ends pivoted to the brackets of the table-top sections, bolts pivotally mountingthe upper and. lower links in overlapped'en'gagement with each other and passing through the slots of the seat brackets to releasably hold the seats in a horizontal position for use, means for releasably holding the upper and lower links in aligmnent with each other, and means for releasably holding said table-top sections fiat upon the first table top.

An article of furniture comprising a table including a frame having vertical, spaced, connected end sections and a top mounted thereon, vertical legs at opposite sides of the frame and connected to saidend sections, seats at opposite sides of the tabletiltably mounted between companion legs for vertical swinging movement from a horizontal position for use to a vertically disposed folded position, table-top sections for resting horizontally upon the top of said table, supports for the seats and the table-top sections pivoted to the legs and the said table-top sections and formed of companion upper and lower sections having meeting end portions overlapped, and bolts passing through the overlapped ends of the support sections and slidably and pivotally connected with ends of th seats and when tightened holding the seats in horizontal'position for use, said supports mounting the said table-top sections for movement from a horizontal position fiat upon the first table-top to an upright I position back of the seats.
