2 Claims.
This invention relates to an improvement in shoe forms, and more particularly to a shoe form for womens sandal-type shoes.
A principal object of the invention is the provision of a shoe form that will properly position the heel strap and the ankle strap of a womens sandal-type shoe.
The accompanying drawin s illustrate a preferred embodiment of the invention, it being understood that modifications may be made therein Without departing from the spirit of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the new and improved shoe form.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the new and improved shoe form as applied to a shoe.
The device comprises two U-shaped members I!) and 28, made preferably of flat spring metal of from A; to /2 inch in width and not Wider than the straps of a shoe to which the device is applied. One member I!) is about four inches long on each side and is adapted to be positioned underneath the back strap of a shoe. The other member 20 is the same length or slightly smaller and is pivoted to the back member H3 by pivots 30 at an intermediate portion of the latter member I0.
The ends 40 of the back member are curved forwardly, to provide for rocking action on the insole of the shoe in the process of inserting and adjusting the form. The distance from the ends 40 to the pivots 30 is less than from the pivots 3b to the top of the member l8, and each leg of the member is angularly bent backward from the region of the pivots 30. This dimension and shape are advantageous to best display the type of womens shoe known as sandal and illustrated in Figure 2.
As illustrated, the form is inserted in a shoe, with the back member ID under the back strap of the shoe.
shoe straps. The economy of manufacture and the ease of operation make it particularly desirable for this purpose.
What is claimed is:
1. A shoe form for use in a shoe having a back strap and an ankle strap, comprising a pair of U-shaped members one of which is pivotally connected at its open end to the other intermediate the length thereof, said members being insertible within the back and ankle straps of a shoe in position to be entirely concealed by the straps.
2. A shoe form for use in a shoe having a back strap and an ankle strap, comprising an inverted rear U-shaped member adapted to be positioned in the shoe with the ends of the member on the insole and the base of the U under the back strap, each leg of the member being angularly bent, the ends of the member being curved to permit rocking action on the insole, and an inverted front U-shaped member pivoted at its ends to an intermediate portion of the rear U-shaped member, the base of the U of the front member being adapted to be positioned under the ankle strap of the shoe. 7
