differs somewhat from that seen in Fig. 1, in that the assembly includes a central vertical partition extending from ends 3| and having mounted thereon on both sides hollow supports or channels 32, 33 forming with partition or wall 30, housings. divided into three compartments 34,35, 36,
As particularly seen in Figs. 2 and 3, there has been provided herein an, electrical fixture in which the shell H has symmetrical parts with respect to a central vertical axis; the substantially vertical wall 30 is located at said axis and the supports 32, 33, upon which the operatin auxiliaries 40, 40a are mounted and in the hollows of which are received the wires, are respectively and symmetrically attached to opposite sides of this wall, with the hollow portions of the supports located at their respective rears; the supports and the said wall forming housings for the wires, the sockets for the ray-emission lamps being mounted on the supports. The fixture seen in Fig. v1 has the substantiallytubular or hollow member l6 located at the central vertical axis thereof.
The lamp fixtures illustrated, may be either of the suspended type, in which case chains (Fig. 1) may be utilized engaging in holes 5| in the end walls I5 or 3| of Fig. l or 3, respectively; or they may be of the floor stand type in which case conventional floor stand means may be provided, as indicated at 52 (Fig. 2).
It is desirable that the medium or environment in which the fixture is placed, be sterilized, for
which purpose means are provided to produce air currents through the length of the fixture,
' which currents will pass through openings in the ends of the fixture.
As shown in Figs. 4 and 5, the fixtures may Each channel or hollow 32, 33, is
wall 6|, while the perforations H in end wall 62 are staggered in relation to the perforations 12 in end wall 63. Thus, no openings in the end walls will be visible from outside the fixture through which ultra-violet or other eye-deleterious rays may be radiated from the lamps within the fixture.
Shaft 66 may be driven by means of a motor i3. Motor 13 is connected to shaft 66 by pulleys l4, l5, and belt 16. 1
As shown in Figs. 6 and 7, the device may be adapted 'as awall fixture, in which case the shell be provided with double end walls 6ll6l and respectively, and extends the entire length of the lamp. Propellers 94 and will draw air through v perforations 19, H, in end walls BI, 62, respectively, and will drive the air out through perforations 69, 12 in'end walls 89, 63, respectively.
The perforations 69 located in end wall 60 are staggered in relation to perforations T0. in end is secured to a wall plate 8|, having perforations 82 for suspension purposes.
Secured to plate 81 is a channel member 93 divided into compartments 84, 91, containing the high and low voltage wires 86, 85, respectively. A transformer is mounted on channel 83, which channel also supports the lamp brackets and sockets 89 forlamp or tube 90. Located within housing 89 is a reflecting means 9|, preferably comprised of two parallelly disposed joined members 92, 93, each member being concave in crosssection.
It is understood that the reflector means 25 of Fig. 1 may be applied to the fixtures shown in Figs. 3 and 7, in lieu of reflectors 92, 93.
The combination of th air circulating system of Fig. 4 with the lamp shown in Fig. 1 is illustrated in Fig. 8 in which reference numerals 60' through '16 have the same significance as numerals 60 through Hi, respectively, in Fig. 4. The
-motor 13', the pulley 15', the belt 16' and the shaft 66 are also shown in Fig. 1. From Fig. 8 it will be seen that the shaft 66', being lodged in bearings 91, 98, is connected with the propellers 64',- 65' by way of respective pairs of pulleys 94, and respective belts 96, the pulleys 94 being mounted on two stud shafts 99, I00 carrying the propellers 65' and 64, respectively. The operation of the system shown in Fig. 8 is identical with that shown in Fig. 4.
' This application is acontinuation in part of my copending application, Serial Number 465,232, which eventuated into Patent Number 2,375,354 on May 8, 1945.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it is apparent that improved simple, practical and inexpensive devices for the purpose intended are provided. It is apparent, however, that changes and modifications may be made by skilled persons without departing from the true spirit and scope of the invention as outlined in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is;
1. An electrical fixture comprising a shell, a support in said shell, said support being hollow, a partition in said support dividing same into sections, a transformer mounted on said support, electricalwiring connected to the primary of said transformer and disposed within one of said sections, other electrical wiring connected to the secondary of said transformer and disposed within another of said sections, sockets mounted on said support, an ultra-violet radiating lamp connected to said sockets, said shell having spaced perforated end walls, a, propeller adjacent each of said end walls, a shaft connecting said propellers, and means for driving said shaft.
2. An electrical fixture comprising a shell, a support in said shell, said support having a channel, an operating auxiliary mounted on said support, electrical wires connected to said auxiliary and disposed in said channel, sockets mounted on said support, an ultra-violet radiating lamp connected to said sockets, said shell having perforated end walls, a propeller adjacent each of said end walls, a shaft connecting said propellers, and means mounted on said support for driving said shaft.

An electrical fixture comprising a, shell, a support in said shell, said support having a channel, an operating auxiliary mounted on said support, electrical wiring connected to said auxiliary and disposed in said channel, sockets mounted on said support, an ultra-violet radiating lamp connected to said sockets, said shell having two pairs of perforated end walls, the perforations in one of the walls of each pair being staggered with respect to the perforations in the other Wall, a propeller disposed between the end walls of each pair, respectively, a shaft connecting said propellers and extending longitudinally of said support, and means mounted on said support for driving said shaft.

An electrical fixture comprising a shell, a hollow support in said shell, a partition in said support dividing same into sections, a transformer mounted on said support, electrical Wiring connected to the primary of said transformer and disposed within one of said sections, other electrical wiring connected to the secondary of said transformer and disposed within another of said 6 sections, sockets mounted on said support, an ultra-violet lamp connected to said sockets, said shell having two pairs of perforated end walls, the perforations in one of the walls of each pair being staggered with respect to the perforations in the other wall, a propeller disposed between the end walls of each pair, respectively, a motor mounted on said support, a shaft connecting said propellers and extending longitudinally of said support, and means operatively connecting said motor with said shaft.
