7 is to provide small sized equipment that will en- .able the use of. quart cans in.-the machin and that will efiect simultaneous agitation of the contents in a plurality of cans. .The invention additionally includes aconstruct-ionwhich will constitute a compact storage receptacle for the 'canswith provision forIen-abling any can to be selectively removed fordispensing' a portion of the contents-thereof without necessitating removal of the othercans or disturbing their operative connection with the agitating mechanism.. An additional object is to provide a machine by means of which a driving connection is made. automaticallybetween an agitator device and a driving wheel whenever a container 'is interlocked with the carrier therefor.

To actuate the driveshaft I3, I provide a bevel gear 2! thatmeshes with the gear 14,; and is aflixed to a shaft 22 that-is journalled in the frame ID. A hand wheel 23 is shown as being afiixed to the outer end'of the shaft 22. g
To support the various paint containers, I have shown a turntable or car-rier 30 which is supported on the plate l2 and is rotatably mounted tainer, and the connection is made by lifting the assembled head and container as a unit off the carrier as is shown in Figs. 4 and ,6.
To eifect a removable connection betweeneach head and theas-so'ciated container, I have shown a plurality of clamping members on each head,
each member includin a finger 35 which is affixed to a pin 36 that projects through the head and has a tool receiving slot 31 in one end thereof. The finger is adapted to engage frictionally the lower surface of a U-shaped flange 38 that customarily utilized on paint cans for holding a removable cover thereon. In practice, the cover is removed and replaced by the head [1 which is handled as a unit with the driven wheel IB and agitator 20 as aforesaid. Each head also has a spout 40 extending .'thereirom, and additionally,
preferably has a closure 4| therefor which may be swingably mounted thereon by means of :a threaded retaining member 42.
To use the machine of the present invention, the liquid container each having the head and agitating means assembled thereon are positioned on the carrier by moving the sockets 33 into registration with the pins 32, and by then causing the pins to enter the sockets to efiect an interlocking connection therebetween. The diameters of the Wheels l5 and I6 are so chosen that when the interlocking connection is m-ade between the carrier and container head, a frictional driving connection simultaneously"1nade between the driving and driven wheels. Then while the carrier is held in stationary position with respect to the frame It and the hand wheel 23-i-s*-rotated, the resultant action is a rotati of the agitator 20 in each container?
