It will thus be seen that by turning the switch 30 before going to bed the light bulb it will act as a night light during the night and is used for dialing telephone numbers and making memo notes-without the necessity of switching on any other light in the room. 7

While we have shown and described a pre ferred construction of our invention, it should be distinctly understood that we do not desire to be limited to the specific details shown but such details may be varied and modified without departing from the spirit of our invention as claimed.

Having thus described our invention, we claim:

A combined telephone stand, night light, f memorandum pad holder and writing instrument receptacle comprising a ,base for said telephone, a back and sides for said base preventing said telephone from shifting from said base, an upright wall at the front of said :base, saidupright wall having an opening at the top thereof, strengthening transverse members for said base having openings therein for electricwires, a central com- 'partment, said compartment having a removable base, opposed walls, a top, transverse openings in said top, an electric socket attached to said 4 base, an electric bulb for said socket, an electric switch for turning said bulb on and off, electric lead wires from said switch to said socket, elec tric wires from said socket to a source of current, a reflector attached to said top above one of said openings for reflecting the rays from said bulb downward, a storage compartment comprising a perforated wall, a base and a hingeable top, said top having a shallow storage compartment for memo sheets, an opening in said top to provide light upon said memo sheets and for withdrawing same, a front grooved member for receiving a writing implement, whereby when said switch is turned on said bulb will act as a night light and cast its rays upward upon the dial of the telephone and downward upon said hingeable top to provide illumination for writing.
