This invention relates to that class of clothes holders for use in hand carried luggage or the like, on which the clothes of the wearer or traveler are hung and folded, ready for insertion within the luggage and in fact its use primarily is in combination with the luggage or bag.

An object of the invention therefore, is to provide a holder for clothes or wearing apparel, which are hung or dressed on the holder and are secured in their dressed positions on the holder, ready for bag insertion.

Another object is to provide a clothes holder with improved foldable and slotted parts for sustaining the clothes in their dressed positions.

A further object is to provide a clothes holder of an improved construction and with simplified means thereon whereby to self-direct the manner in which the clothes are to be secured or draped on the holder.

A still further object is to provide a travelers clothes holder, particularly for male attire, of an improved construction whereby shifting displacement of the holder secured apparel is eliminated.

Other objects and advantages will appear as this description progresses and by reference to the drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is a side elevation of this improved clothes holder showing the manner in which it is inserted and engaged in hand carried luggage, and the luggage being shown in dotted lines.

Figure 2 is an enlarged perspective View of the clothes holder showing the securing flap thereof in outwardly swung position.

Figure 3 is an enlarged transverse vertical section taken approximately on line 3--3 on Fig. 2.

Figure 4 is an enlarged longitudinal horizontal section taken approximately on the line 4-4 of Fig. 1.

Figure 5 is an enlarged transverse section taken approximately on the line 55 of Fig. 4.

Referring by numeral to the accompanying drawing this improved clothes holder comprises a rectangular frame 6 having top and bottom longitudinally disposed bars I and 8 respectively and respective end members 9 and I disposed at right angles to the bars I and 8. Disposed and secured to one side of the bars 1 and 8 is a wall I! and secured to the other side of the top bar 1 at l4 and hinged thereto at l2 is a flap l3 which is of the approximate size of the wall I l and fastened to the part M at the approximate center of its length, is one end of a strap l5, for the support of a hanger l6.

Each of the end members 9 and I0 is provided 2 Claims. (Cl. 223-) withan elongated slot ll, said slots being in alinementand are disposed on one side of the wall II with their inner edges flush therewith andspecifically on the flap side of the frame to form a pocket I8 between the wall I l andthe flap l3 whenthe flap is in closed position in the manner as shown in Fig. 3.

In the order of dressing or draping a twotrouser suit of male attire on the holder which is done entirely outside of the hand carried luggage or bag IS, the holder is flatly disposed on a table or the like and the pocket [8 uppermost with the flap l3 swung away, and in this position the trousers A being properly folded, has the legs '20 thereof inserted and pulled through the slot I! of the end member 9 of the frame 6 and are inwardly pulled a suitable distance within the pocket l8 on the wall II. The folded legs 2| of the extra pair of trousers B are then inserted and pulled through the slot ll of the end member ll] of the frame 5, to a suitable distance in the pocket 03 and brought to rest on the legs 20 of the trousers A. The waist portion 22 of the trousers A is then swung over the upper disposed edge 23 of the end member 9 and folded on the legs 2| of the trousers B and subsequently the waist portion 24 of the trousers B is swung over the upper disposed edge 25 of the end member ID and folded and rested on the waist portion 22 of the trousers A as clearly shown in Figs. 4 and 5.

The coat C and vest, if any, is then folded on the hanger IS with the opening or buttoned portions thereof against the flap I3 and as the coat ordinarily is longer than the depth of the flap I3, said flap when layed on top or against the folded trousers provides for the folding of the depending length of the coat around the bottom bar 8 of the frame 6 and upon turning over the holder or frame with the flap l3 at the bottom, the lower portion 26 of the coat is folded into the space or pocket 21 against the wall H on the I other side of the pocket l8.

In the use of a clothes holder of this improved character, if the clothes are properly arranged therein in the manner described, transportation use of the luggage or bag can not in any way disturb the folded wearing apparel and if desired the user may retain the apparel in the holder until use thereof is required. Also, it is obvious that the dressing and arranging of wearing apparel in this improved holder is much simpler and more adequate than in the old manner of folding and arranging a suit of clothes inside of a luggage bag.

While I have described one embodiment of my invention with some particularity, obviously many other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art to which it appertains. I, therefore, do not limit myself to the precise details described, but claim as my invention all variations and modifications coming Within the scope of the subjoined claims.

What I claim is: V

l. A clothes holder comprising a frame having vertically disposed end members, a partition Wall secured between said end members intermediate their width to provide a spacing on each side of the partition wall, each of said end members having an elongated opening therein on one side of said partition Wall for trouser leg insertion, a flap member swingably secured to said frame on the elongated opening side thereof, and garment hanging means on said flap member.

2. A clothes holder comprising a frame having vertically extending end members, a partition wall secured between said end members intermediate their width to provide a spacing on each side of the partition wall, each of said end members having an elongated opening therein on one side of said partition wall for trouser leg insertion, a flap member swingably secured to said frame, and coat hanging means on said flap member.
