Application February 18, 1946, Serial No. 648,298
1 Claim. 1
The invention relates to a hanger strap for personal wear and more especially to a hip-boot hanger.
The primary object of the invention is the provision of a hanger of this character, wherein hipboot or other like footwear when not worn on the feet of a person can be conveniently hung from the waist belt of the person, so that they will be handy for use when the occasion requires.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a hanger of this character, wherein the boots can be readily hung thereby and removed from the person with ease and dispatch, the hanger being of novel construction and is unique in the assembly thereof.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a hanger of this character, wherein a boot can be hung in a manner, either on the person or upon a support so that the upper will not become wrinkled or cracked, and in a condition that it will readily drain and become dried if water has gotten into the same.
A still further object of the invention is the provision of a hanger of this character, which is simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and efficient in service, strong, durable, possessed of few parts, and inexpensive to manufacture.
With these and other objects in view the in- Vention consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which disclosed the preferred embodiment of the invention and pointed out in the claim hereunto appended.
In the accompanying drawing:
Figure 1 is a perspective View of th hanger constructed in accordance with the invention.
Figure 2 is a fragmentary side view of a boot showing it with the hanger attached.
Similar reference characters indicate correspending parts throughout the several views in th drawing.
In the drawing the hanger constituting the present invention, comprises a flexible looping strap Ill which is of suitable length and width, it being made from any selected material, and has at opposite ends sleeve terminals H, which are created by stitching as at l2 the overlapped extremities I3 of such strap. In one of the terminals is loosely fitted a catch hook l4, preferably made from a length of wire, while loosely fitted in the other terminal 'II is a keeper loop I5, also preferably made from a length of Wire.
Attached to th strap l0 preferably midway of its length is a suspension strap l6, which at its outer end loosely carries a catch hook l1, similar to the hook 14, the latter and the hook [1 being adapted for detachable coupling with the keeper p l5, as best seen in Figure 2 of the drawing, and in this manner the strap [0 can be looped about the boot I8 when inverted, while the strap I6 is engageable on a support for the suspension of the boot as shown.
This hanger can be suspended from th belt, not shown, of a person or on a rack, and thus the boot can be drained and the upper prevented from wrinkling or cracking.
What is claimed is:
A hanger for a boot, comprising a looping strap having a catch hook at one end and a keeper loop at the other end for the detachable connection of the hook and loop to fasten the strap looped about a boot when inverted, and suspension means on the strap for the hanging of the boot by the latter, said means involving a suspension strap having one end fixed to the looping strap, and a catch hook for detachable engagement with the keeper loop.
ARTHUR T. HANSON.
