(Ola-153) This invention relates to improvements in necktie holders and has particular reference to a device upon which tie may be formed and held in fixed position between the lapels of a collar and in adjusted position on the collar-button of a shirt. t

The principal object of this invention is to produce a simple necktie knot-holder which is neat in appearance, inexpensive to manufacture, one which will not injure the softfabric of a necktie and one which may be readily used in the forming of the knot.

A further object is to produce a device wherein the same will tend to hold the knot in a projected position, thus creating a pleasing appearance of the knot between the lapels of the collar.

Other objects and advantages will be apparent during the course of the following description.

The ordinary necktie is placed around the collar-band under the collar, and then by oomphcated movements, a knot is formed and the tie pulled tight,'so as to move the knot in proper position between the lapels of the collar.

Such a procedure is very hard upon the soft fabric from which the usual tie is made, andas a consequence, the life of the tie is comparatively short; also, considerable time is consumed in making the knot and adjusting the same.

I have, therefore, devised a tie-holder upon which a tie may be formed into an attractive appearing knot, which knot will from that time on remain upon the holder and consequently the same is not subject to the wear and tear above described.

Also, by having the knot preformed upon the the knot of a four-in-hand of the invention or tion are folded upon holder, then it is merely a matter of picking up the knotted tie and. holder and quickly and easily adjusting the same on the neck of the wearer and in engagement with the collar-button..

In the accompanying drawings wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of my invention, and referring p rticularly to Fig. 6, it will be noted that I have provided a blank having wing portions 5 and B, and a bifurcated portion 1, which bifurcated portion forms a slot 8, the purpose of which will be later seen.

5 and 6 is upset, as shown at H, particularly in Figures 3 and 5, which forms a space between house the button H of the collar-band l3.

Also, by viewing Figures 3 and 5 it will be noted that the bifurcated portion 1 is curved toward the front of the device.

The result of this construction is that when a necktie is draped over the device and a pair of loops formed about the wings 5 and 6 a knot is thus formed, which knot will appear as shown in Figures 1 and 2, the bifurcated portion I being exposed in the back. as shown in Figure 2, thus enabling the user to quickly adjust the device and the tie on to the collar-button and between the lapels of the collar.

The device is preferably made of a flexible material such as a plastic, which may be easily formed, one which is smooth and consequently will not injure either the tie or the shirt.

It will thus be seen that I have produced a device which performs all of the objects above set forth.

It is to be understood that the form of my invention herewith shown and described is to be taken 'as a preferred example of the same and that various changes relative to the material, size, shape and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit claim.

Having thus described my invention, I claim: A neck tie knot holder comprising a blank havstructure at the point the bifurcated portion to the scope of the subioined wing portion, said middle portion being oil'set laterally with respect to the folded bifurcated porcurved to underly said middle portion of the blank when the same is in wearing position.
