This invention relates to razors and refers more particularly to safety razors which do not have to be taken apart and reassembled in the course of their use.
Safety razors now on the market consist usually of at least three pieces which have to be taken apart and reassembledV whenever it is necessary to insert a razor blade or remove it from the razor.
So called one-piece razors, now in use are comparatively complicated and easily breakable, and cannot be used satisfactorily with two edge blades.
An object of the present invention is the provision of a one-piece safety razor which is simple in construction and effective in operation. i i
Another object is the provision of a safety razor which does not have to be taken apart or reassembled for the purpose of inserting a razor blade therein or for removing that blade, and which is simple and sturdy in construction and effective in operation.
, A further object is the provision of a one-piece safety razor, which is so constructed, that the blade supporting surface may be conveniently exposed for the purpose of placing a blade thereon, whereupon the blade is clamped between this surface and a cover. y
Other objects of the present invention will become apparent in the course of the following specification:
In accomplishing the objects of the present invention, it was found desirable to provide a blade support which is rotatably mounted upon a handle and which cooperates with a cover movable in relation to the blade support upon guides which may constitute a part of the handle and/or of the blade support. Y
The clamping of the blade between the blad support and the cover may be attained through the use of a screw thread engagement between the cover and a portion of the handle.
The invention will appear more clearly from the following detailed description when taken in connection with the accompanying. drawings showing by way. of example, preferred embodiments of the inventive' idea.

The razor shown in the Figures 1 to 5, has a handle 20 which maybe of any-suitable shape, and which has an upper neck portion 2| carrying a pivot 22. f y
The lower end of the pivot 22 is rmly embedded in the neck portion 2l. The pivot 22 carries a ange 23. pivot 22 is provided with screw threads.
The blade support consists preferably of two parts in order to facilitate assembly around the flange 23. The two parts may be of substantially the saine form in order to simplify manufacture.
The lower part 25 is pivotally mounted upon the pin 22 and rests upon the upper end of the neck portion 2|. Y
Central recesses formed in the supportingpart 25 receive the lower part of the flange 23 and the adjacent portion ofthe pivot 22. The support 25 has curved lower surfaces and a flat upper head in surface which is engaged by a corresponding surface of the upper support portion 26. The sup port portion 26 has central recesses receiving the upper part of the flange 23 and the adjacent end of the pivot 22. The two support portions 25 and 2S are connected with each other and may rotate upon thepivot 22. y j
The upper surface 21 of the support 26 may carry projections 28 and 29 fitting into the central slot 30 of a razor blade 3l. The threaded end 24 of the pivot 22 is so dimensioned that it extends conveniently through `the same central opening 30 of the blade. ,Y u

A safety razor, comprising a handle, a supporting member, for a razor blade, a pin having one end firmly connected with said handle, said supporting member being rotatably mounted upon said pin intermediate its ends, and a covering member adapted to cover said blade, said covering member having a threaded hole formed therein, the other end of said pin being threaded and being screwed into said hole in the clamping position of said razor, arms connected with said covering member on opposite sides thereof and extending on opposite sides of said supporting member and a yoke connected with said arms and having a central portion embracing said member adapted to cover said blade, said cover-` ing member having a threaded hole formed therein, the other end of said pin being threaded and being screwed into said hole in. the clamping position of said razor; arms connected with said covering member on opposite sides thereof and extending on opposite sides of said supporting member and within parallel grooves formed in said sides of the supporting member, and a yoke connected with said arms and having a central portion embracing said handle.

A safety razor, comprising a handle, a supporting member for a razor blade, a pin having one end rmly connected with said handle, said supporting member being rotatably mounted upon said pin intermediate its ends a covering member adapted to cover said blade, said covering member-having a threaded hole formed therein, the other end of said lpin being threaded and being screwed into said hole in the clamping position of said razor; arms connected with said covering member on opposite sides thereof and extending on opposite sides of said supporting member and at a distance therefrom, and a yoke connected with said arms and having a central portion embracing said handle.

A safety razor, comprising a handle, an upper supporting member having an upper curved surface for a razor blade and a lower substantially flat surface, a lower supporting member having a lower curved surface, and an upper substantially flat surface engaging the fiat surface of the upper supporting member, screws interconnecting said supporting members and having heads projecting from the blade supporting surface, and adapted to extend through a central opening of a blade, a pin having one end firmly connected with said handle, said supporting members being rotatably mounted upon said pin intermediate its ends, a covering member adapted to cover said blade, said covering member having a threaded hole formed therein, the other end of said pin being threaded and being screwed into said hole in the clamping positionof said razor, said covering member having other openings formed therein, and receiving the heads of said screws, in the clamping position of the razor; arms connected with said covering member 'on opposite sides thereof and extending on opposite sides of said supporting member, and at a distance therefrom, and a yoke connected with said arms and having a central portion embracing said handle.

A safety razor, Vcomprising a handle, a supporting member for a razor blade, a pin having one end firmly connected with said handle, said supporting member being rotatably mounted upon said pin intermediate its ends, a covering member adapted to cover said blade, said covering memberhaving a threaded hole formed therein, the other end of said pin being threaded and being screwed into said hole in the clamping position of said razor; arms connected with said covering member on opposite sides thereof and extending on opposite sides of said supporting member and bars connected with said arms and slidably and swingably mounted in grooves formed in said handle on opposite sides thereof.
